Many local dealers lost my business over the GT500 ordeal. The one that I bought it from has earned my business and referrals for a very long time.

Mike, its larger than you would thnk. Just the bad word of mouth of the customer who wasn't able to get the car he wanted is huge. Thats why I can sell GT Mustangs at X-Plan, no questions asked on this site. As long as I have a PIN number from a customer, you get the plan. Plus my boss even lets me sell Ford Extended Service Plans on here at discount. I just really enjoy helping out fellow enthusiasts on here. Even if I can't actually sell someone a car, if I can help them save some money or answer a question for them, I feel good that I'm helping others (just ask AFBLUE). Plus I'm allowed to go on here during work hours.

 

Congrats. Look at it this way. Now it goes in for its first round of mods.

You guys are killing me! Fear not. Actually, before I posted the above, I had already called my salesman (on the 08 Silver GT), to confirm that this car had actually come in. I thought they had cancelled it, but I guess it was too late. He said it's sitting right outside.

He asked if I had gotten the 08 Shelby GT, and I said it was on order. He asked how much I was paying and I happily informed him that it was several thousand dollars less than his dealership was willing to sale me a SGT (no fault of his). So I let him know that I was not interested in the Silver 08 GT (would like to see it though if it's still around when I get back in town).

As told you all before in this thread, the manager (his boss) told me "if you think you can get a better deal then go do it" So I did

Waiting is the hardest part. But I'm closer now than I've ever been. Maybe a month or 2 to go.

 

Hang in there Mark. It won't be too much longer. Hey, when you get the car, you gotta schedule some time off next June for the All-Ford Nationals in Carlisle PA. Its WORTH a drive north for buddy. You would have a blast!!! A great way to show off the Shelby!!!

 

That...and drive it by the dealership that told you to find a better deal. When people come up and ask you about it you can tell them you bought it somewhere else...that is what the manager told you.

 

You won't regret your choice. The blue and silver color combo is awesome. Pictures don't do it justice as it looks much better in person.

After enduring 38 days of waiting for it to ship to SAI, I've just been informed that my car left the railyard this morning on its way to Las Vegas.

Gonna skip the woohoo smilie as I've overused it in this thread. Should be at SAI around 8 Oct.

My dealer, Michael Morris is going to be out there on 15 Oct, so maybe he can get a picture of my car.
