Well I just found out that my car hasn't shipped after all. It's still sitting in flat rock michigan (been waiting to ship for the last 45 days) for whatever reason.

Don't know why they would hold shipping Mark. Dosen't make sense. I do know that when I ordered my 03 Cobra they kept the first run in the yard due to a quality control issue and would not release them until the fix was completed. Other cars built after were shipped but mine was delayed for about 2 months. No consolation but maybe a QC issue?

I, for some reason, thought that they were only making the 08 Blue SGT's in vert. only. They sure do look good hardtop though! I dont think you would regret waiting on the SGT over the 08 Silver GT! Smart move in waiting!

Here's the latest from my dealer.

the car WAS shipped, but was returned because of a scratch on the front bumper. it is now getting a NEW bumper and being painted so that it will match the car. they wanted to paint it there so that they could use the same paint and match it perfectly...i cant honestly say when the car will ship...i will let you know more when i here it.

That and for shipping they will probably wait until a set number of the uber rare '08s are ready to go to Shelby. That would cause a longer wait....that and the bumper.

If it was at SAI already, I could try to swing by and get a pic for you. I'm headed to a car show north of LV tomorrow, and the Mustang club is meeting up at the Iron Skillet just behind SAI to caravan up the rest of the way.
Or, I guess I could always head up there during the week, nice to have an excuse to get out of the office for a while.

Hi guys and gals. Returned from overseas Friday night. Went by Saturday to see that Silver Metallic 08 Ford Mustang GT that I had ordered back in April. It looked real sharp (of course I would think that...I ordered it exactly the way I wanted it).
My salesman and I got to talking and he said they could get me a real good deal. It was too good to pass up, so...

So anyway...my 08 SGT is on a train in Ogden Utah today and arrives at SAI tomorrow. My car is on the same train as another 08 SGT future owner, "Dig-it", on shelbyautos.com forum.
Odd thing is that we live within 30 mins from each other and both ordered from the same dealer in Perry, GA. Small world. He's getting a convertible and I'm getting a Coupe. We've talked about going to some shows together in the local area.
Wife and I are going to Las Vegas to do the Shelby Autos tour on 9 November. I've heard from a lot of SGT owners that it's an awesome experience. It will provide a great opportunity for me to get some pix of wife next to S197 mustangs (for the "pix of Ladies with S197 Mustangs" thread
