Interior lights won't come on
Gang when I open the drivers to passengers door the interior lights do not come on. The map light is working but not when the doors open. It sounds like a switch is bad but do any of you have any idea to what the problem is?

Ron,
You can check the door switch circuit if you have the IUP. The message "door ajar" appears in the information window in the speedo when the car is on and a door is open. Compare the message response between the driver and passenger doors to verify that the Smart Junction Box (SJB) knows the door is open.
If the proper message doesn't appear, then there is a problem somewhere along the circuit from the SJB to the door switch. First place to look is at the door switch, second place to look is at the connector to the SJB.
Another possible cause for lighting issues has been the water infiltration problem that a number of people have experienced. The firewall water leak gets the SJB wet, and strange things start to happen later on.

The problem is fixed
Well I took the car down to a friend who owns a Mustang repair shop, he checked all the fuses and they were fine. The problem was who ever wired the alarm from the dealer did not crimp the wire to the fuse box correctly causing the short to the door lamp.
