Totally confused!

I have a build week of 7/30. My salesman called me today and told me the built date was 7/31 (OK, I'm with him so far), then he told me the ETA at the dealership was 8/3 (Hunh?). It was a voicemail, so I called him back to confirm. He said his papers now say "build date 7/31 and ETA 8/3."

I ordered mine with stripes. It is my understanding that stripes take a few weeks to complete and the whole process takes 4-6 weeks from build to delivery. Even though my dealer is about 3 or 4 hours from Detroit, I doubt it would get there that quickly.

Do the GT500s have a false ETA date that is generated automatically and not taking stripes into account? I plan to call Customer Service tomorrow and try to find out what the deal is.

I don't see it being impossible. The '06 GTs I purchased were delivered 10 days after their production dates. That included 1,200 miles by train and truck transport.

I just got off the phone with Customer Service.
She said they have 8/21 as the ETA. That makes more sense to me.
Wasn't the news I was hoping for, but, more believable. I can live with that. I was originally expecting to get it in Dec/Jan. Anytime in Aug is an improvement over that.

Stripes are done at the VPC center across the street from the plant. It shouldn't take weeks, likely only an extra day or two. They literally drive the car off the line in the plant and across the street to the VPC. If it's really scheduled for a build of this week I'll bet you have the car next week.

They no longer send them across the street. They have a room now right at AAI where the striping is done. They have bays to work on 4 cars at a time. I was in the room on my plant tour June 15th. This has speeded up the striping process.
