not sure what you are saying Tiger, but, they are open to air. that allows heat to escape and air pressure to escape at high speeds. Therefore, functional.

God knows that I love this car and I will defend it to death..., more it is necessary to be aims.

I just don't get Ford's business plan. They're laying off 5000 employees at a time when they can't produce enough GTs to satisfy demand. I don't hold out much hope that there will be anything more than a token offering of Shelbys, but if there is and the price ever does get down to a reasonable level I'll take one

Both of the blue ones I saw had gray stripes. One was inside in the lobby. I might be able to scrounge a picture of that one.
I forgot to mention that I saw a yellow vert without stripes. There was also a gray w/blue stripes outside being tested. Hole shots back and forth across the parking lot.

I hear you. You would think they would take one of the plants and setup a Mustang/Mercury/Lincoln variant production. The Stang with a Cougar and Lincoln coupe offering would probably justify it's own plant.

Don't ask for pictures, as I wasn't allowed to take any.
Just took a tour of AAI. Saw several Shelbys. I saw an orange vert (no stripes), red hardtop, and 2 blue hardtops.
Word has it that they are running through pre-prod right now. 10 Units to be built. Lots of engineers running around. Really cool to see, and there was lots of excitement in the plant.

How did the 2 Blue hardtops look?....and what color striping on them?

If Ford makes 40,000 a year of them the world(and ford's pocketbook) will be a better place If they make less then 10,000, its gonna suck.

10,000 is the number I heard from an inside source.

Making 40,000 of "them" year would be a VERY bad business decision for Ford.
No way in the world could Ford come within a mile of selling 40K / year.
After the intitial hype wears off Ford will have trouble selling 10,000 GT-500s a year.
The market for $25K plain vanilla Mustang GTs is only about 70,000 / year so how in the world would Ford sell 40,000 of the $40K+ GT-500s?
Super Muscle cars just don't sell that well. Do you realize that between 1964 and 1971 ( 8 years ) Chrysler sold less than 11,000 street Hemis?
