Mark, I prefer not to use dynos simply because they are not "real world" conditions. Nothing substitutes for datalogging at the track and tweaking based on these runs. Having the ability to make my own tune file modifications between runs is priceless. I'm not referring to the "tune with options" some tuners allow the end user to make. I'm referring to having the software that allows me to make ANY changes at ANY time.

I've used this method for countless years, since OBD-I days with my third gen Camaros. I recently sold my twin-turbo 1987 IROC-Z, which was my daily driver until about five years ago. When I sold it, it was making 650-700 rwhp. My new GT500, in essence, replaces it, so I have to expect it will put down as much, if not more, horsepower.

My Whipple is the intercooled version. I also use progressive methanol injection. This is done by varying voltage to the pump. Methanol allows me to really jack up the timing, significantly more than any tuner around the S197 realm is comfortable doing. (It seems to me that this aspect has not been explored in depth around these cars, which I've played with and will continue to do with the GT500.) There are a couple of other topics that have yet to be discovered here which I have experience with; having gained this knowledge from the Chevy boys.
