I love this car. Everything about it is far better than my GT was. I had a lot of fun and a lot of power in that car, but wow what a drastic difference. It's really hard to want to do anything to it at all. I know I will eventually do some things, but we'll see.

I just picked up mine late last week. Frankly, my Whippled GT has more power (very noticeable) and sounds far better than my stock GT500. I mean the GT really gets up and smokes the tires with a blip of the throttle. The GT500 just seems to lumber along.... I'm thinking I bought a $50k pile of junk BUT I know it has potential. Maybe it's my own tune on my GT that's partly to blame for this huge discrepancy..... Maybe I should start selling my tunes to help pay for this new monstrosity I just picked up.
Right now at this very moment, I'd drive my GT over my GT500 in a heartbeat.... At least the GT500 engine looks cool.....

Personally, I am not going to mod mine (aside from axle backs and my faux Hurst shifter) at least for now and maybe never. I did drive a pullied GT500 and the difference is incredible.

These cars are VERY quiet to drive stock. Boost is set quite far down on throttle position. I had mine tuned and CAI at about 200 miles so noticed an immediate improvement. You get used to the power Quickly. I would drive my 05 (CAI,tune, pulleys) and there is just no comparison......Maybe for the first 60 ft. or so ,after that the 500 just explodes! I now have 8000 miles on mine , some 3.73 gears and a 2.6 pulley. For me I just can't use much more power and is way more than enough for 99% of encounters you will have....IMHO. Put some miles on it , you should see some improvement even stock.

I don't plan on getting crazy with mine, but I do have a set of 3.73's waiting to go in and I want to order the JLT intake, with a 2.6 pulley, and EVO tune. It desperately needs a catback, I just can't decide which one I like. Right now I'm leaning towards the FRPP. The only concern I have is that I'll eventually do all 3" piping, but can I get the 3" catback now and will it bolt up to existing stuff or do I have to get everything 3" now?

As far as mods, I'll be going with a 2.8 Stage III KB. But this is only after it's broken in. I'll be tuning it myself as I did with my Whippled GT. You guys would not believe how good it runs.....
As I eluded to earlier, my GT can run circles around my GT500 in both their current states. BUT I also know the potential my new car has so I have to be a little more patient.

Willie, Do you have your own dyno when you do your tuning or do you rent one as needed? or maybe you don't use one at all? Is your whipple the intercooled kit or non-intercooled kit? Nice to hear that you still dig your mustang GT. I love mine.
