I really don't see the point. I'd prefer ford keep building on the current look, but I'd prefer to see sharper more aggressive lines evolving from the current car rather than a re-interpretation of the 1969.
Even the 68 isn't that great looking. The rectangular fog lamps look completely out of place.
The only good looking Shelbys are the 65, 66 & 67

I personally like the 68 shelby the best. I do agree about the fog lights tho. round would have been much better. But the massiveness of the 68 grille and front end just do it for me! Not to mention the placement of the hood scoop openings are actually the best location for a ram air induction. The previous years would have missed most of the direct airflow due to the placement being so far back on the hood. But no doubt about it the 67/68 shelby rear ends were the prettiest the mustang has ever seen.

Hello everyone: Haven't been around in a long time. I passed on the 05 Mustangs because I thought something better would come out. Now, I am going to wait until 2009 and see what the redesign looks like...
I have heard the car will get a smaller green house for sure (based on the S197) Other than that, I have no idea what the next car will look like. However, these are the things that I would like out of an anniversary car:
1) A Shaker hood
2) 5.0L of displacement with VVT and cylinder deactivation
3) A 6 speed (pretty please!)

I don't think it would be too hard to make the roof shorter. A few changes in the unit body structure is all it would take. Most car lines are now only setup to run a 5 year life cycle these days.

Ah, sorry I miss took the content of the post. Eitherway, I am looking for a new Mustang possibly around 2009 (my 89 will be 20 years old then) to use as a DD. I am happy that there is a place on the inter-world that is already discussing the next version of the car.

Or do you mean that the roof, is too tall ?? is that what you meant, by shortning the roof ??

Well in that case, there's only one way to shorten the greenhouse, and still remain a fastback..Lower the roofline, 2 or maybe 3 inches, similar to the 67-68 greenhouse, which had more of a sloped roofline, called the sportsroof, which gave the car a true fastback profile..Personally, the 67-68 fastbacks were the best looking Mustangs, of all time, in my honest opinion..

Otherwise, leave the greenhouse.. as is
