Why Steeda Cold Air Intakes Blow Away The 'Competition'

When I sold cars I looked at extended warranties like this... If it was going to change your lifestyle to have a $3000 repair come your way then get an extended warranty! (or don't get a tune in this case) if its not going to cramp your style to throw a motor or tranny in your car down the road then skip the extended warranty (or get yourself a tune in this case.) what makes me laugh hysterically about this whole subject is that people will wait til the warranty is up to have to 100% shoulder the cost of repair themselves, If you had a warranty you never know it could be covered.?.?
Why most everyone is busting steedas ***** about this is beyond me since they don't seem to have had any failures to this point. I also believe that in this day and age that if steeda says they stand behind what they do then that's good enough for me.
If you have any doubt yourself about steeda or anyone else standing behind their product just don't buy it.
You have a Steeda tat in the middle of your back dont you?
Seriously, if they would at LEAST come out and address it, fine. But look back through the thread, even after it was mentioned they didnt address it, they answered another post entirely and still have not come forward to address valid concerns. Thats speaks more to me than anything, cute videos or not. Roll the dice buddy and let me know how that works out for you.

Why they would say that is beyond me!!!
About the Steeda parts? Its cut and dry about what Ford did. Ford put out a TSB about tuned 5 Liters!! If your car comes in and is tuned, and a dealer sees it, they can void your warranty. Plain and simple! If Steeda says their CAI needs a tune, that will in essence, void the warranty if a dealer sees it in there and they want to be the "enforcer". I don't know why they just don't do what Roush did back when they came out with their 1st supercharger kit for 2005+ GTs. Roush's kit came with a full 3 year 36,000 mile warranty that ran with the Ford one! If you installed it at delivery, you got 3 years on the motor. If you put it on a year later, you got the balance of the 3 year/36K whatever came 1st (I believe, but can't recall at this moment). Steeda, will you do the same?
This is why I won't consider doing anything to my car until the warranty is up. There's nothing wrong with wanting to protect the warranty on the vehicle, especially if that warranty saves you $3000 for a new transmission. I doubt there are many on here, or anywhere, that think tossing 3 grand down for a brand new transmission is "pocket change," especially not in this economic climate.
I'm sure Steeda would see an increase in business were they to come out with a documented warranty of their equipment like Roush has. I have little faith in a company that won't produce an enforceable warranty. It's that simple. For those of you "rolling the dice," I sure hope it never comes up snake eyes for you.

Read the posts, nobody is claiming that Steeda produces junk. Not once is that ever claimed. All the "debate" regards is voiding warranties. The fact that Steeda will not chime in does, in fact, speak volumes whether you are a fan of them or not. Im indifferent actually, but the facts are what they are.

I definitely don't want to knock Steeda quality. As pointed out above I was merely presenting another angle to the story.
Contrary to a statement made above, a piece of paper doesn't necessarily pay to fix your car in a timely & convenient fashion. I can scream "Magnusson Moss" all I want but if they refuse to cover it, it will require legal action that in some cases can be painful far beyond the arbitrary $3,000 mentioned above.
The dealers local to me (including a Lincoln dealer which somehow is the only FRPP certified dealer for miles) all told me the FRPP tune is aftermarket and that there was a notorious case where a customer had a 5.0 with a tune and took his case to the highest court and levels in the Ford company, and he lost. After that case they're all friggin paranoid.
The other side of the coin is New York City, where a friend had a dealer install his FRPP tune (!), and later had a #8 issue, for which the dealer replaced the engine and RE-INSTALLED THE TUNE! So not crying, just pointing out some regional concerns to an excellent company (where'd that guy go?) that sells nation- if not world-wide. I need to move, I get it I get it!!
PS- one last point is one of re-sell. Some of you, particularly you younger guys, prolly think you'll keep your 5.0 "forever". But life comes @ you fast. Ive had over 30 cars so far, so statistics suggest i may sell this mustang prior to factory drivetrain warranty expiry. How much harder is it to sell a car with a voided warranty?

I guess it comes down to people do not want to pay to play. I also guess a solid rep and good customer feedback doesnt mean something to some people. If a magic piece of paper that says " you are covered no matter what you do" is the only thing that can make you a buyer then you were never really shopping in the first place.

Flagstang....you nailed it "spot-on" !!!
I certainly wish others would take the time and watch the video as it sums it up pretty good albeit in a humorous manner. We never have had an issue with our tunes and CAIs --NEVER--. One has to believe that this is as a result of our superior engineering, quality materials used in manufacturing, and our relentless pursuit of perfection. Additionally, we are the only CAI manufacturer that is ISO 9001-2008 Certified....the end result, the customer wins on all fronts.

B- It's irrelevant as that's a supplier trying to sell to a wholesaler. Are you going to personally come to me and sell me on your product and give me your personal # so I can call you at any time for any reason? If not let's move past referring customers to a Tommy Boy clip on YouTube and address the questions/concerns here.
C- I hope no ones who bought the "J" intakes daughters got knocked up!

It makes me wonder, if the tunes are so flawless, why does Ford have this position in the first place.....
So for the Xth time, you are stating that regardless of the fact that the "tune" voids our factory warranty you will get in the ring with Ford and fight for us when they attribute anything to the tune?
It makes me wonder, if the tunes are so flawless, why does Ford have this position in the first place.....

Because Not every tom, **** and harry knows what they are doing when it comes to tunes so you can't assume that every tune is 100% safe.
If you go with a reputable tuner you should feel confident in the product you bought being installed on your car.
Like what was said before. You pay to play. Tunes improve the conservative timing, A/F ratios, and throttle response to improve your car based on its specific engine performance and mods.
Ford's stock tune is great for a mass market car but if you want yours specifically adjusted to operate at its best you tune. I personally think the stock tune is great just the throttle response is so so. All depends on individual tastes. Tuners improve the stock conservative standardized tune, not replace it completely as if it was crap.

You just proved my point good sir. Ford cannot possibly know what every tuner is throwing into their programmers, nor should they have to. That is exactly why no matter who makes it, Bobs Tune N Go or Steeda, any flash you do to it will kill your warranty. QED.
so, my question as to if Steeda will stand behind their product and provide transportation went unanswered. This tells me that if a dealer decides it's the fault of the CAI and will not cover it under warrantee, and it goes into lidigation, I'm without a ride, and the cost of a temporary vehicle will be mine. This will certainly cost more than the CAI.
Great that they stand behind their product 100%, but that does not pay the rental car fee while the two parties argue as to who's at fault. This is the problem as I see it. I'd really like to have one, but cannot afford the risk of a dealer claiming the part was at fault, and waiting for the manufacturer of the part to prove it's not.
