Why Steeda Cold Air Intakes Blow Away The 'Competition'
OMG, this is funny.
So the other manufacturer, Lee Bender & C&L called you and gave you his "best guess" as to why the Mustang world is lovin on JLT?
This is too funny.
Lee got his cast aluminum panties in a bunch when 5 out of 7 cars at the 5.0 shootout had JLT's on the car.

I've already exposed your own lies on a very simple matter. , I can go quite a bit deeper if you choose to push the issue.
Think it over....

Speaking of undermining... lets examine something else here real quick.
In a release sent by JLT after we released our initial findings, he states he went out that day and tested the stock airbox on his vehicle. Then here in this very forum he goes on to say it was the day before.
In addition, in that same release, Mr Tucker went on to clearly state that we should have lied and fudged the numbers. Really? In favor of lying to the customer are we?
Well, are you lying about when you performed your "test". We think you are. Some easy detective work proves it.
The radio show on your recording is from FM99 WNOR where they were talking to Lisa Lampanelli. A quick search on the radio station reveals that interview was aired Wednesday morning, this is after you got wind of what we were doing.
So everyone here should be asking themselves, if he is in favor that we should have lied to our customer, and is obviously lying about even just a simple thing as to when a test took place... what else has he lied about?

Do you think I wrote a rebuttel in a few hours?
It was Wed on my way into work when I did it, that's nothing worth hiding.
That's a funny thing to hone in on when your this deep in BS
As far as the shootout, you should watch what you say becasue it involves a very well respected friend and I know his side of the story, you do not.
X was running a C&L at the shootout.
I have never meet X and introduced myself.
Right away he mentions he's using a C&L becasue he is great friends with Lee.
I respectfully understood and offered that I do have a kit with me if he had any interest in testing.
He respectfully declined and we when on with the shootout.
I then find out Lee called X on his way home that day asking how the day went.
X tells him and mentions he meet Jay Tucker from JLT for the first time.
X explains I offered him a kit to test and the call is over.
A few months later I find out Lee sent a 5 page letter to MM&FF ranting I was PUSHING product on ALL racers and demands I'm written out of the article.
I call X to see if I said something I didn't remember or was off color
First words out of X mouth "OMG, what did he do?"
X explains I did nothing he considered pushing and was very respectful to him. We have contact to this day and we are friends.
I heavily suggest you get your ducks in a row before you post anything without actually talking to X.
Steeda and Lee was not their, so what ever he thinks happened, happened in his head.
Anyone who knows this man can agree, this makes 100% cense.
Open the door, be willing to walk through it together!

My. 02
I get the feeling steeda and jlt don't get along very well
I will also add that steeda is handling this with more thought out responces while jlt is taking stabs and name calling... 1 point for steeda!
Continue the battle now

I still want to know what JLT intake was used for the comparisons Steeda has run - old post says carbon fiber new post shows plastic with same dyno graph. When was the actual test done and what product was used?
To me thats a lot more of a difference than when Jay logged his temps . . .

The temperature tests were done on the same day/same car with their plastic unit.
The dyno tests and the temperature tests were not done on the same day from each other and they needed to be done separately anyway. The temperature tests in particular needed to be done within a certain timeframe to keep the outside air temperatures as close as possible, which they were off by only 1 degree.
Name calling? Where?
Sounds like Steeda just got cought in lies about testing, the results, when it happened and are insinuating they know something about a situation they were not involved in.
What Steeda said in 2011:
As we had argued in the past, due to its size the JLT trades off a little bit of low end torque, however to the average user this difference would not be perceptible. Any of these intakes given the same tuning will essentially feel and perform about the same. I am sure some of the JLT's torque loss down low could be minimized with further tuning, Choose your cold air intake based on your personal preference, because from a performance standpoint, you will not be disappointed by any of the ones in this thread.
What Steeda is saying today:
As you can see, the oversized housing of the ‘J’ cold air suffers from a serious lack of low end torque compared to our optimally designed system
Seems a lack in sales over the past 12 months makes you forget the facts and become a marketer.

"Hey Guys/Gals,
Steeda just did a very comprehensive comparison of the Steeda CAI and the other brand which we have named "J". If you ever wondered what seperates the Steeda CAI from the competition, then this is a must read."
But your dyno didn't change from April last year. And you called Jay out on a 1 day difference in his logging a stock box?
Let’s make this interesting and do a real world test, IMO Jay & Steeda have haven't shown me anything to sell me on their intake vs. the other. So lets test both with an independent tune and dyno and have a review written . . .
