Although I really like the 2010, mostly hips and updated interior. I also like my current 05 GT as well, and have no intentions of trading up.

You have got to be joking, how can you even consider that abomination as being a winner Just look at how flat, and butt heavy the rear looks. If anything, that thing looks more like a Bat, than a Mustang !

I really wish everyone would not take statements so seriously. If you read the entire post and took a good amount of time to study the picture, you would understang what I mean. I never said it was a perfect design. I was saying you could take some ideas a make that design better, when I used the term "tweaked". Slim it down some, smaller spoiler, etc. Something like that would have looked worlds better than the 2010 rear end. The "winner" would be the the redesign of that style look. Just like it amazes me how many people talk about ricers and yet they except something as tacky as the cervinis c-series.

Well FYI, I did read over your entire post, and perhaps if you had been just a bit more specific in the first place. Chances are, I wouldn't had misinterpreted your post to begin with !

I Actually Really Like this pic of the 2010, but I guess You will just take that as Me "Leg Humping the 2010" again. Sorry, I Like the Car, Just My Opinion. I was just as Enthuisiastic about the 05's when they came out, but I'm Not Scared by Change.

I agree, not really seeing how the back end looks that bloated, the '05-'09 also have a big back end.

LOL, YOU make it sound like the 05-09's value will skyrocket just because YOU dislike the new 2010.

And the 2010 stole the hood design from that very same Celica, yada yada yada.

Haven't we been through this like a dozen times already?

The Celica was the Japanese Mustang; Toyota intentionally patterned it after Ford's pony car.

Yeah, the Japanese have always been good at copying nice designs. Now the Chinese automakers are in on that game too. Have you guys seen that Chinese ripoff of the BMW X5?

I love the new car. IMHO, the 2005-09 was a great step in getting back to the Mustang "D.N.A." as they call it, but it was starting to look old. The 2010 keeps the same "idea" of what a Mustang is, but updates it. Its like the next iPhone or PowerBook or Porsche 911- it takes everything good about the old one, but takes it to the next level.

After having seen it in person at the LA show sitting next to an 09 Bullitt, I can tell you in comparison the 2005-09 looks very straight and stiff while the 2010 adds a lot of sculpture and curves and really plays with the light well, especially in the Candy Red and Silver they had at the show. The sequential tailamps are freakin' cool!

And the interior just smacks the old one upside the head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its sooo much nicer, I won't feel bad about giving up my VW GTI for the 2006 GT I had. I mean, you do spend so much time inside the car, it needs to be nice, not so plasticky as the current Mustang. The new 2010 one is awesome. The chrome pony on the door, the conical gauges, the aluminum shifter, teh chrome rings around the speakers- just lots of nice details. Feels and looks very expensive. Can't wait to have it. You guys ( & gals ) may change your tune once you see and drive it in person, and if the new looks and interior don't get you in '10, I'll bet you with the combo of the 5.0 in 2011 you won't be able to resist!

Meh...

The 2010 just doesn't excite me.
Has its good points, has its bad points.
I think I'll wait and see what Ford does for the 50th Anniversary car.

I think they hit less than a home run with the taillights/rearend bigtime...the fronts 'ok' to me but on a scale of 1-10, id give the 05 a (9) , the '10 a (5)...sorry...the rearend I'd give a (2) vs the 05's (8). I really like the '10s interior, but the exterior just dont have the 'wow' factor the 05 did...at all.
the 05 was a very tough act to follow, so the '10 expectations were probably unrealistically high- I just dont see what I was hoping for- but hopefully I'm not the only one that wont be in line for one- ford could sure use another 05 like rush, but with that model in this economy, just dont see it at all. In my opinion the 05 lines scream 'classic', the 010, just 'different'...give it a while, it will grow on me, but the 05 was love at first sight to say the least- just dont get that with the 10.

Exactly. I was also hoping that the 2010 would be a home run from the first time I laid eyes on it. Oh well... there's always the next restyling...

Yep, agreed. Expect '05-'09 values to go down as do all models when a new design comes out.

Steven, being as the next restyling will be in 2014, as the 50th anniversary edition. I'm hoping this will be the Mustang, which finally returns to becoming a full fastback once again.

Which is exactly my only reason for holding out, until then
