What do you think of the new 2010?
The fanboys are as thick as thieves in this thread. Have you ever heard of the Minivan stigma and the switch to SUVs? That switch was motivated by what other people think of you in your car. Nobody wanted to be the "soccer mom in a minivan." Enough said, case closed.
I've been trying for years to convince my wife to get a minivan or station wagon, but she suffers from this phenomenon. I do not. I drive what I like because I like it. Not because of what everyone else thinks.
Sad to say that I still think the car looks dumpy, as I had felt about all of the little teasers of the new bits that have been released or captured in the wild over the last year.
Here is my list of complaints about the styling:
The front bumper looks huge like a "Jay Leno chin" at some angles.
Tail lights look too massive (on par in size with the Mustang II rear lamps) for the equally massive rear end.
Side body lines are interrupted with "smoothed" fender flares, confusing images and styling.
Black plastic body cladding is overdone in an attempt to make the car look longer and leaner.
Running horse emblem looks like it has a fat **** at some angles.
Heck the car itself looks a bit fat in the rear overall.
Rear half of the car form the rear of the doors back is too rounded and "Infinti-esk".
Front edge of the hood and grill look like "Fireman Bill's" lip-less grin.
The inboard amber front lights and chrome trim still look out of place (especially against the rest of the black trim) and odd in general.
Very small HP bump
I do like that the antenna was moved to the rear of the car and the WW squirters were removed from the top of the hood to the cowl area but neither of those points will get me to buy a 2010 Mustang. In fact, unless there is another restyle, a larger bump in HP 2011 or 2012 will not get me to buy a new Mustang either. I'll just add more HP to my 2006 if I feel the need until the next major good restyling.

The exterior is more of an evolution, but the inside changes are huge. Ford did a great job stepping up the build quality and layout!
My disappointments:
-No 5.0L and 6 speed until 2011
-Carry-over brakes. Ford should have used the current GT brakes on the V6 and increased the GT rotors to 13.0F;12.4R with the upgraded pads. The stock brakes are marginal at best and this is a relatively cheap area that Ford could have really improved upon. Maybe Ford will do this in 2011 when both models get more power.
-No watts link. Ultimately, I'd love an IRS. The next best thing is a Watts Link.

I am in the boat of that the exterior is ok, not an improvement, but OH MY GOSH, the interior is soooooooo SAWEEET!!! I would like to mod my 08 to some of the features of that, not all but some for sure. I like the instrument cluster. Ambient lighting is neat but not needed. I like the area around the shifter, maybe it can fit an 08.
So here are my thoughts:
It's a nice car. The interior is wayyyyyy better than my crude looking 2005 interior. So many of my cosmetic mods are now standard (sequential LED taillights, auto headlights, auto dimming mirror, trunk switch, etc) which is cool. If I understand it correctly, the Bullitt CAI is now included with the GT premium?
315 horsepower is a serious disappointment. I have that now courtesy of Doug and C&L - why change? 5 speed manual tranny is carryover. Too bad... I was hoping that they would ditch that noisy POS. Again, why change?
The verdict?
Nice but no sale. I'm less than 2 years from paying my car off and I see NO reason to trade unless the rumored 5.0/6 speed tranny combo appear. THAT is the only "gotta have it" factor on MY radar... more power! ( sound like Tim Allen don't I)
In closing: Hat tip to Boomer... you really called it WAY early!!!!

i know what youre saying bro; at the end of the day you need to drive what you like. if you buy just because of reviews and you are just ok with the car chances are you will sell it and get something else, happened with me.
The look is starting to grow on me. The thing about it that I dislike the most are the 19" wheels they use. I think they are really ugly! The solid spoke 18" ones on the V6 and the vert look way better. Also I think the fog lamps looked crammed into the grill where on the 05-09 they actually "fit." I also think that the the vertical pillars on either side of the grill should be the color of the car (like they are on the 05-09). Thats why the V6 front looks better IMO. The best thing about the new mustang is the interior. It's awesome. Other than that the 2010 is 09 Bullitt with a new suit. I do think a 2010/11 Bullitt would look really good - with the blank grill and strip around it. I was going to wait and see if the 2010 was something that I wanted for my first Mustang. Based on the spy shots I decided to go with a 2009 and I am happy with that decision. It would take a 5.0 or a new Bullitt to make me think about trading it in now.
