Car looks great, as usual! When you say '13 tails, do you mean just the tail lights or the bumper and tail lights?

thanks! eh, not sure yet. I wish I could get the 13 bumper without the lower plate surround, etc. So in other words, my same 12 bumper, but with gap filled. And no, nothing from AM will touch my car.

Yeah, that rear plate surround is pretty annoying. Someone needs to come out with a rear bumper that fills that space and accommodates 13-14 tails.

I tried to swap out my axle backs but didn't get far with that.

So, I clay barred the car and then did a coat of sealer afterward.
Black looks great when clean like that.

I was finally able to tint my taillights. The first two have a couple of bubbles but then I got the hang of it. Looks a lot darker in the photos but you can easily see the light when they're on.

^ nice Nick. Are you talking about tint on the inside part of the light, the smaller (was clear white) rectangle in the center? Or do you mean the larger red rectangles on the outside? I'd assume the inner. The 2nd pic shows them darker, but the outer red was brighter...wasn't sure if it was flipped or what?

A couple more satin coats and time to put it together. Of course the pins on the back broke off while I've been working on it. It's going on with 3M so no big deal.

I like how the satin clear frosts out the shiny pony. I also gave the red white and blue a spray and that looks great satin.

Final job posted later. Looking forward to seeing it on the car.

The satin looks excellent. Is there anyway that you can highlight the F-O-R-D?

I installed the stubby antenna from AM yesterday. I figure the reduced drag should be good for 0.5 seconds off my 1/4 mile time and 2 MPH

Wipe a thin coat of silicone on it and you'll shave another 0.2 seconds off.

Just dreamed of the last runs down the autobahn and wondered if I still have a car. Car was on a cargo ship coming to the states and there was a fire on board. Been about a month since the fire and still waiting to be notified on my cars condition

Thanks guys.

I thought about painting the letters but I can't figure out how to get a nice crisp look. I think they would look best in a dark gray.

Photoshop...

Agreed. Here's what I'd try:

If the main flat black ring is lacquer, get a small jar of Tamiya model paint. I'm pretty sure it's a water based acrylic. Just brush it in the recesses, and don't worry about getting the paint on the outside surface....just wipe off where you don't want the paint. The key is applying several light coats...don't glob it in all at once.

Obviously do a test spray on a piece of plastic with the flat black, and then brush on the grey paint to see if there's a reaction.

Btw, I think I like the Tri-Bar just as is without the red/white/blue paint.

That looks really cool. I might have to try that with mine. Still haven't gotten around to putting it on.

I agree, I would do the same thing and use some model paint and a really good small brush.
