I couldn't agree with this more!
I'm an American, but I live in Japan... I ordered a 2011 5.0 GT and it's coming at the end of the month. The bad thing in Japan is that Ford doesn't offer any customization... All models come standard with the hideous HID housings...

You are all going to think I'm insane, but I've been really thinking about downgrading to the standard halogens and OEM housings!

I know, I know... HIDs are safer, brighter and most people like them, but honestly I don't... This is purely a styling issue with me. They look like Terminator eyes on a beautiful retro styled car. Japanese highways and the cities are pretty bright anyways. I hardly drive in pitch black conditions...

The biggest problem is that the Japanese dealer is no help and so far I can't get a straight answer if this is even possible!

I found bulbs, wiring harnesses and halogen housing on the net, but I really need to know what I'm getting myself into since I'm pretty much on my own over here!

So, can anybody help me out? Will new wiring harnesses plug and play? Will the car's computer not like them? Will the HID harnesses and hardware come out cleanly?

By the way, the car is pretty much US spec except for a few minor cosmetic changes... Nothing major...

Thanks!
