VIN, Build, Delivered: The 2012 Edition
Did anyone who ordered in January get a Vin yet?
I noticed my dealer had one 2012 in stock on their website so i wanted to go see it.
But it wasn't there on the lot. Instead I ran into a sales guy trying to sell me another car before mine gets delivered. very funny.. Then the sales manager saw us and tried to check our status but he said March 7th he'll know more. I hope it'll only take another month (so it'll be 8 weeks as promised) but do all the cars ordered before February come first I guess?

My understanding is that AAI runs a single shift. If everything is up to pitch, I figure they can produce between 250-350 cars a shift. Last months sales figures were around 3100. Won't take long for them to blow through the back log. Then they have to get shipped........
I have just been informed that my vehicle arrived at the dealer yesterday. I have to wait 'til monday to pick it up as there is paperwork that must be mailed due to the ENCS process, but yup. Mine's here!
We will be expecting a full report. (we will live vicariously through you)
Let me know how that paperwork goes. Guess I'll make sure to fly back on a weekday so I can get all that done the day I get back to CA.
Everybody else, thanks for the props, and I'll make sure to post lots of pics with my DSLR!
I am guessing any day now one of the first retail orders will be picked up. Cant wait, mine not sched yet. Each day is a little warmer and we have seen a few 70 degree days already here in Northern VA,,it makes the wait a little harder now!
I predict by March 11, a pile of orders will get pulled.
"We ran out of headliners for the Mazda 6, due to the fire at the Howell, MI Magna plant. We will be down next week with a return date of March 14th."
not sure if this is just Mazda 6 side or the whole plant.
Looks like I spoke too soon. Just pulled this from an AAI working from the Blue Oval Forums:

News from my salesman
Hello all,
Just wanted to let you know that I talked with my salesman yesterday and he said they have allocation for 5 mustangs this month and mine is one of them. He thinks that the order will be pulled next week, week after we should have the VIN and will be built the last week of March or 1st week of April. That is about 3 weeks longer than what I was originally told. Not too bad for all the delays that we have seen this quarter.

"An unrelated parts shortage did cause Ford to cancel next week’s production at the Mustang plant in Flat Rock it shares with Mazda. "
