In all seriousness though, I don't think it will be that late. I think once production goes full speed without errors, we will start seeing more and more members get info about their cars.

 

I'm thinking the same thing Mike. I ordered mine Feb 1 and the dealer thought I would have it by the end of March or possibly early April at the latest.

 

Not to be a pessimist, but I wouldn't put any stock into what the dealer says or thinks. Mine told me it takes 6-8 weeks for the cars to come in once the order is placed. I talked to him a week after I put down the deposit and he says it looks like the car will be in much quicker than we thought.....more like 4 to 5 weeks. So meanwhile I drop the price on my current car to make sure it sells quicker. I take a low ball bid thinking I'd have my mustang by the end of Feb. or early early March. I talked to the dealer again late last week and he's now telling me it's looking more like 12 weeks.

Now I'm stuck with a crappy low ball deal on my current car and will be without wheels for possibly 12 more weeks cuz I sold my car way too early. Hopefully the 12 weeks is more BS!

 

I ordered mine the same day and my dealer told me the same thing. I got an email today saying the 12's have cleared quality control but have not been given the order to ship. He said probably this week and they are still thinking 6 weeks for mine to be built / delivered.

I would rather they spend a little extra time getting it right than releasing it early and having a problem down the road. I think it’s going to be longer than six weeks but remain cautiously optimistic.

 

Looking at the bright side, we will all have 2012 Mustangs in the spring of 2011. I live in an upscale area outside DC and dont see many 2011s on the road! The wait sucks but we can save a little and buy mods if we choose,,,,cup half full! LOL

 

Ordered my kona blue today, 14FEB11.

 

Wow, it got quiet in here. Its been almost a week since I was told Ford pulled my order, but I've heard nothing since then.

You're not going to see much news until the OK to Buy is given. Almost all of our orders are retail so apart from the orders they serialized when the order bank opened they're not issuing serial numbers to any of us.

To put things in perspective, the 20 or so of us on the VIN list represents about 40 minutes of production. We represent a very small percentage of the people waiting for our cars especially when you consider that until they start pulling retail orders we're not even in the race yet.

If your order was pulled you should have a VIN. Did your salesman give it to you?

 

No. I sent an e-mail this morning asking if he had it, but he has not returned the memo. I had seen on other forums that ok to buy may have been given, but from your response that's looking like false info. Oh well.

 

Yeah i know, wouldn't want to drive my 'Stang in these kind of conditions. So when's yours suppose to arrive at Van Bortel !

 

The manager at the dealership said that he has an OK TO BUY... I don't think I believe him.

 

Okay, so order was not pulled. The dealer must be a bit confused.

 

No VIN yet, as it's a retail order. Hopefully it will arrive just as the snow is melted.

 

Another week and no orders pulled according to my dealer.

 

.......and potholes fixed !

 

Mine has been shipped, ETA 19FEB (That's tomorrow!).

The sales rep at Ford informed me that mine is among, if not the first to ship. So, HOORAAAAAAAAY!

They're shipping!
