The v6 Pony Package - worth it?

Hey all!
Thanks a lot for answering my many questions in my earlier post. I'm still eyeballing the 2013 v6 Mustang.

My next question is around the "Pony Package" specifically. Basically, I'm wondering whether or not this is good value. What do you think? It seems to me like it's basically an extra grand for fog lights. Am I missing something?

Does anyone have any good side-by-side photos comparing the difference?

Much appreciated!

Found this on the 2011 Ford Mustang pricing guide (must be one for the 2013):

V6 Pony Package
18" Polished Wheels, Body Color Exterior Mirrors,

Unique Grille, Fog Lamps, Pony Fender Badge,

Auto Headlamps, Embroidered Pony Floor Mats, Decklid Spoiler

and Unique Lower Tape Stripe

Worth it? It's up to you. If this style is what you like, then it's worth it. That's what's neat about how Ford is selling the Mustang; you can select and order one that suits your taste.

I like the fog lights in my V6, and they get used. I drive early mornings from outside of Orlando to Tampa a few times a week. In some cases, there's fog on the road and the fog lights come in handy. My Mustang did not have them when I bought it, and ended up buying an OEM kit for $300.00.

My opinion? If you like the pony package, buy it. You're the one who's going to make the payments and drive it.

I have a '12, and went with the pony/performance/handling packages. I went with the 18" Pony Package wheels, and interior upgrades. I knew I was going to put my 20" wheels on, so there was no point in the 19" performance package wheels. Plus when I take it to the track, I swap the 18" wheels back on. I use the fogs on a daily basis, and the look of the special grille is cool. It's all up to your taste....you can order the car with what you want, and what is in your price range. And I do have the stripe down low, I just ordered it black.

The 3rd and 4th are how it sits now.

I like the the pony package, however it does not let you select the color I wanted and does not have the performance package. other than that I was tempted.

I went with the Pony package on my 2012 V6 because it gave me the options and wheels I wanted with all the Tri-Bar badges all around the car. The grill has a retro look which I was initially drawn to when I started to look at all my choices. In the end I was looking at the performance package just for the 19 inch wheels and engine cover/ struts tower bar. But that package from what i recall would have been another $1600 and the tires would not have been all season. Plus I wanted an automatic. So for me I choose the pony package with the Black and Lava interior.
I'm very happy with my choice and no matter what you pick your gonna love it. The car comes in many flavors and they all rock!

I chose the Pony Package because of the looks, particularly the front grill. It gives it the signature Mustang look. I also like the special wheels and tri-bar badges. In addition, I went with the Electronics Package and absolutely love the advanced technology.

Don't know where you are located but my dealer has a beautiful red one in stock. I was so tempted like I said but held out for what I ordered.

Like others have stated, I went with the Pony Package for the looks. I'm extremely happy with my decision.

It's the factory '10-'12 lights....I made a custom template and plasti-dipped them. I'm making a vinyl cover for the lights that will look the same, but won't let light through at all. I'm going to be selling them as soon as I get all of the details worked out. I have a thread about them.
