Meant to be more specific, Digital Speedometer, I know it has the other readouts. Sometimes I don't want to spend the extra few seconds trying to figure out if I'm going 55 or 60 with the way the needle points.
^^ I'm curious too. Only way I know a really accurate speed is when my radar goes off and the GPS portion of my detector states my MPH as it's telling me the band of radar detected. It's real hard to dial in your exact speed, especially with a quick glance.

I'm trying to make a little video and show you guys how I got mine working, but I need three hands. You have to hold the "RESET" button down and turn the key to "ON" but don't start it. After a couple seconds a read out comes up, "ENGINEERING TEST MODE", then, "GAUGE TEST", release the button and then you tap it to cycle through the options. There are quite a few before you get to your "SPEED" options.
To shut it off, turn off your car. It will not save, you have to do this every time you want it.

Here's what I have used in my past 2 cars.
This is a regular iPhone 4 using speedo apps available from the app store. They all work using the iPhone GPS and accelerometers. They are very accurate. Similar apps and capabilities are available using Android-based smart phones.

More pics of some of the speedo apps available are on this thread.
