Other Ford models have a type of this as well. My 2004 Ford F150 has a version of this.

Meant to be more specific, Digital Speedometer, I know it has the other readouts. Sometimes I don't want to spend the extra few seconds trying to figure out if I'm going 55 or 60 with the way the needle points.

^^ I'm curious too. Only way I know a really accurate speed is when my radar goes off and the GPS portion of my detector states my MPH as it's telling me the band of radar detected. It's real hard to dial in your exact speed, especially with a quick glance.

This is why I'm thankful that I splurged on a Kenwood Excelon deck with built-in Garmin GPS. Even with a Bama Tune, the mph wouldn't synch up with my 20" Rims and the speedo would read 3-5mph off. It was enough to get a buddy of mine pulled over by our worthless PD in town and this is why I drive with the Garmin screen activated at all times showing me my approximate MPH.

I'm trying to make a little video and show you guys how I got mine working, but I need three hands. You have to hold the "RESET" button down and turn the key to "ON" but don't start it. After a couple seconds a read out comes up, "ENGINEERING TEST MODE", then, "GAUGE TEST", release the button and then you tap it to cycle through the options. There are quite a few before you get to your "SPEED" options.

To shut it off, turn off your car. It will not save, you have to do this every time you want it.

Are there any other cool things the car can do? I know bmw's have the ability to roll down the windows with a keyfob, stuff like that.

Here's what I have used in my past 2 cars.

This is a regular iPhone 4 using speedo apps available from the app store. They all work using the iPhone GPS and accelerometers. They are very accurate. Similar apps and capabilities are available using Android-based smart phones.

More pics of some of the speedo apps available are on this thread.

I apologize for a mistake in what I have listed in the procedure. RELEASE the button after "ENGINEERING TEST MODE" then "GAUGE TEST" will appear to start the cycle.
