Traction...
Traction...
Or rather, lack of it. How aggressively should the traction control be intervening? I'm spinning completely through 1st and 2nd and partly through 3rd under WOT.
Traction control can only do so much.. it more less keeps the car straight for me, i burn out in 1st and second, then bark the tires in 3rd (auto), at WOT..
you need to manage the right foot to not burn out in those 3 gears..

That's what I thought. I've been pedaling it in 2nd and 3rd, but 1st is simply hopeless. I just wondered if that's what others were having, or if I should take it to the dealer.
perfectly normal to me.. and if i put it in sport mode.. its even worse.. I think its main purpose is to keep the car straight.. and not doing a 180.. and the more upgrades we do, ex, tune intake.. will just make it worse..
I wish gas would go lower so i could get some more 93 octane

never ran on the track, or quater, i was refering to quick spirts on back roads.. if i mash it to the floor, 1st, 2nd, and begining of 3rd spins.. which is what the OP was refering to.. I can midigate all off the spinning with foot control, with and without TC on.. The BAMA tune is what amplified the problem with me because of the firmer shift points.
Perhaps the tune also modified the traction control and made it less intrusive... on top of making it easier to spin the tires.
I have noticed traction issues in first and just manulipate the throttle to prevent issues. The traction control deals with the little spin that I allow. I am smart enough not to try instant full throttle in first, don't want new tires at 10,000 miles.

Something else to consider - fuel. It was posted elsewhere that the traction control works by taking fuel off the engine, thus causing a lean condition. Very bad if you're at WOT. There is a post on S197 to install a relay that turns off TC as a default when turning on the ignition. I don't know if it's applicable to the newer cars, but I can't see why it wouldn't. I'd have to go find it, but I can post a link if anyone's interested.
Sorry, that post is on here:

No traction issues for me with the brembo package. 275 width summer tires make quite a difference. I bark second and third. I haven't done a clutch dump into 1st yet, but as long as I do a controlled roll-in, I don't break traction.
The more mine gets broke in, the faster it gets.
When it was less than 1,000 miles, I was disappointed.
Now w/ 5000 miles.........it's an animal.
