Touch screen minor scratch removal

I have developed a minor swirl scratch on my electronics package touch screen, ironically from cleaning with a touch screen cleaning cloth. Has anyone had experience removing minor scratches/swirls?

Meguiars macks a scratch removal cleaner that works pretty good. If its not bad just leave it a loan. Some times the repair is worse than the damage.

I know you know it's there and it is eating at you but you might just want to forget about it.

Don't use scratch x. Try a little carnauba wax to diminish the scratch. Otherwise leave it alone! It happens. I have some on mine also.

Thanks. Unless I find a solution that will definitely work, I will leave it alone. I did it myself by cleaning with the polish cloth using my finger in the bottom corner of the screen where one of the "buttons/arrows" is located that is used a lot. I wouldn't have thought it would scuff like that using the cloth, I wasn't pressing that hard. But I guess that swirling motion with my finger pushing down left a swirl scuff. It's only noticeable from an angle and when the screen is clean. Still, I wish it wasn't there.

I bought this before I got the car.

Amazon.com: Lexerd - 2014 Ford Mustang TrueVue Crystal Clear Navigation Screen Protector: Automotive Amazon.com: Lexerd - 2014 Ford Mustang TrueVue Crystal Clear Navigation Screen Protector: Automotive

It fits perfectly and I got it on with zero bubbles.

Yes I ordered one of them too hoping to eliminate scratches from happening before I scratch it. It fit perfect.

Is that permanent or will it peel off easily?

It will peel off like any screen protector.

This is your best solution. Not only will it protect from future scratches. But it will make the current scratch "visually" disappear. Unless the scratch is deep, the protector won't bubble over the scratch. Should go right over.

you would think that Ford would make the touch screen with glass like a tablet but there must be some legal issue using glass in the cockpit. Although we are sitting behind a glass windshield

A capacitive touchscreen with gorilla glass would be significantly more expensive to include. Even then they still could scratch. Screen protectors go on everything for me. 3DS, iPhone, iPad, Pebble Steel, etc.

Can't speak to the manufacturing cost of a Gorilla glass touch screen, but if you manage to scratch one, you are definitely doing something wrong. I have two tablets and a phone with the stuff and I have dropped my face down on the pavement with nary a scratch. Personally, I would prefer to pay the extra couple of buck to have Gorilla glass.
