Tire Pressure sensor fault

I got this message about a week ago and checked all the tires and they were good. Did a little research and found it it means that one of the sensors could be bad.

Fast forward to snow and I decided to kick the problem down the road and put my winter tires and wheels one. I have done this for the last 5 years and there has never been an issue with the pressure sensor system. Now I still get the same error.

This leads me to believe that it is not an issue with the sensors in the wheels but rather an issue with the system and I took the summer sensors out of the equation and put in the winter wheels with different sensors. But the problem still exists. An ideas?

Did you do the TPMS re-learn procedure after you swapped wheels? Sounds like it doesn’t recognize the sensors.

Thanks, I've never had to do that, The original problem was on the set of tires and wheel that had been on the car all summer when the error message came up.

The sensors have batteries in them, not sure if the batteries are replaceable, but first guess is a battery has gone dead . . . and also do the re-sync if you have the tool; not sure if it is actually required but can't hurt

I had a similar problem and it was a chinese 12v power adapter of my dashcam that was causing the problem. Once I got rid of it I drove like for 10 minutes and it fixed itself, hope it helps.

Bought the tool for $14 off of Amazon, don't have high hopes but for $14 I will see if that works.

Had not thought of RF interference. I'll unplug the dash cam and radar detector, worth a shot. Good idea and the price is right for that debug test.

Got the tool this morning and it worked, I'll see what happens in the spring with the summer tires that caused the original problem. Thanks all.
