Sync directions and Nav

I was mucking around the Ford Sync site to learn about it and it seems that if you have a factory Nav system you can't use the Sync traffic, directions feature. I know it would be somewhat redundant but if you get a 3 year free Sync traffic, directions subscription why shouldn't you be able to use it even if you have a Nav. system? I wonder what other Sync features you miss out on by spending the 2k to get a Nav????
Comments?

The Sync site says you can't if you have a Nav system. Are you saying "yea' because you have a Nav system and tried out the Sync directions?

the nav system is superior. it adjust to many conditions in real time where the sync version does not.
there is ZERO reason to use the sync services when the nav features are many times better.

so why burdon the sync direction servers and infastruture for people who have a superior system already on board?!??!?!?!?!?

I was very impressed at how well it worked. It just takes it some time to recalculate if you deviate from the prescribed route it downloads.
