Stock A6 5.0 - 12.73 @ 115

Dragstart I would have to agree. A 14.00 pass should be right at 100mph that is why alot of tracks have 14.00 or 100mph = helmet so a 14.41 @ 104 seems way high.I will pay attention to the cars running close to 14 flat next time I go to Sac.

There is no "X" et = "Y" mph. Spinning can skew the relationship greatly. Just for comparison, I once ran 14.3@103.8 in my SVO.

I think the leap from the 1/8 to the 1/4 trap is too high, but we'll have to wait to find out. Plus, isn't 115 close to what 'Vette's trap with 430 HP and less weight? That doesn't seem off to you?
Plus, people have been saying that the track is known for pushing up trap speed; once again though we'll have to wait and see!

I'm not sure why everyone is so surprised, Ford said from the beggining that the Auto wasn't going to sacrifice any performance. Auto's have come a long way - even without an auto stick feature. Sure a manual is more fun, but I'm glad to see that for people like me that wanted the convienence of an auto, we didn't have to sacrifice performance.

Assuming the performance of this car turns out to be about what can be expected from other A6s (taking weather, track conditions, etc into account), then color me surprised - pleasantly so. Regardless of what Ford says, they don't have a good reputation when it comes to performance automatic transmissions, so I am/was skeptical.
Hopefully my skepticism is now misplaced. The 12.73 in this thread goes a LONG way towards making that so.

Yes it is. It's a copy of ZF's 6HP26/28 premium box, which is still one of the best autos you'll find on the market. Miles ahead of any GM or (previous) Ford auto.
We have the ZF's here in the Falcons and they're generally as quick, if not quicker, than the manuals.

Ford has been using it in other vehicles before the Mustang. Gearing may be different, I don't know.

I don't care what it was used in before, when it was used before, or what/when it might be used in later. All I really care about is how it performs in the Mustang. First reports are very good. Hopefully it stays that way.

6R60/80 tranny has been in use since 2006 in the exploder/mountaineer then in 2007 in expiditions.
