I have it happen as well, for me it is definitely a signal issue. It cuts out when I pull into my garage, or on some of the downtown roads in my home town with thick covering trees.

It's expected from time to time.
2.33Ghz to 2.34Ghz Downlink freq (5.1" Wavelength) is virtually line of sight (aka objects in the way will block the signal) espically given the size of the Sirius recv antenna on your car and the spacecraft being 24,000 miles out in space.
Also there are certain dead spots in the earth coverage from the spacecraft.

Mine has done the same in the wide open spaces....on the last two Fords I had. Seems to be a Sirius problem as I ran the regular FM for a few days and no cutout. Try the regular radio and the CD to see if is limited to Sirius.

its in wide open spaces not in a downtown area or covered by trees. and it only does it on the sirius. so im guessing sirius attenna issue or sirius radio is just ****.

What % of time would you say the signal is dropping; 10%, 50%, >1%? Is it always in the same spot? Do you have a friend with a sirius equipped car - go to the same locations and see if you both experience the same drop-outs.

Were I live, my Sirius works flawlessly. I live in a bad spot for any radio reception! So bad, in my 95 I had custom 4" antenna made. I only listened to CD's in it. I only listen to my Sirius now.
