I haven't been on here and forever and I haven't read all the posts since my last one but I finally did it. I saved up some money to have money to put down and I did it. What finally made me do one last push was I hit a horse and totalled it or rather should have. I got screwed out of totalling by $500 or less. I was doing about 60 and it was 11:30 at night and a big black horse just ran out. Never even had a chance to hit the brakes. Needless my dealership's repair shop fixed it all and I drove it for two weeks. My good friend from high school actually bought it off of me for more than the dealership would. They actually wouldn't even take it unless they had a buyer for it. My friends got it for less than they were paying for their Kia and got a lot nicer car and a lot less miles. I sold it to them for 19k. I signed papers on a 2013 comfort package gotta have it green and then my car lot couldn't even get me the car so they let me get something more for the same price so I found a comfort package, 19" black and silver rims like the ones on the new Taurus SHO, and a stripe kit. So they ate about $1,500. So I have the car I wanted, a sexy *** color, more options, and my 5.0 and I still got moved into a house with the people who actually bought my 2012 V6. Both Mustangs stay in the garage. No I don't get as good gas mileage as I used to but I also go 3.73 gears and I have had no problems with my car in the snow at all so I don't know why anyone would say a V6 would be better than a V8 in the snow, pretty sure it depends on the driver. I drive about 10 minutes to work now instead of an hour now also so horray for keeping the miles down on this one. I had aftermarket exhaust on it while I still had dealer tags too so I'm pretty happy. I raced a 2012 SS Camaro Transformer Edition and spanked its *** every time for like 12 pulls at varying speeds and kept pulling even on top end. I'm about to go on vacation to the Florida Keys too so **** you to who said a girl would become important to me and I wouldn't be able to buy her dinner haha. Thanks to all and have a good day! I know I will.

I buy a new mustang every year. I can afford a gt500 but want a new car sooner then later. I think he misses torq. He fits in.. he has a nice mustang but he wants the power he had. its really that simple. His buddies giving him crap just reminds him of what he longs for in the cold world

To the OP, congrats on your purchase, I'm glad you got what you wanted. Personally, I would have rather put a couple grand into the 6, made it unique, and save money. But to each his own. Essentially your 5.0 now cost you 41K....

And people assumed things about my age and my situation. You're right I came off as telling off and I suppose I was but I proved a lot of statements wrong. I lost 5k on my car and that's it. My payment a bit more than I would have if I would have went into the deal with no negative equity. I figured it up and its about 75$. You could do a lot with 75$ every payment but at the same time it was a fairly cheap lesson and a cheap price to pay for being happy.

It would have take a year at least and a lot of sacrifices to save up a couple grand to put into my V6. I got my msrp 38k car for msrp 36k price so 41k isn't really that much considering it would have been that much for msrp 38k plus tax title blah blah.

I think you were quite lucky to sell your car at that price. Dealerships in my Area are selling low mile 2011-12s with a clean history for 17-19k. I hope you enjoy the car but once again I don't feel you should criticize the people you sought advice from. At the end of the day you are paying more for the car, fuel and insurance no matter how small the increase. As long as you are happy with the car that is all that really matters

People didn't assume anything. I knew when you created this thread that you were going to do what you wanted. You don't need reassurance from the forum.

I drive a shorter distance to work now and my insurance went from 130 to 136 so not really that big of a difference. Yes I am paying more. Also after the wreck and repair my car had even less value, the lot wouldn't even take it in unless they had a buyer already. That car was going to have such little value if I did wait any longer to get rid of it. So I'm not suppose to criticize people who were criticizing me?

The accident didn't cause it to go up at all. It was a black horse that ran out in the road in the middle of the night. 14.5k damage. The insurance went up 6$ when I got the 5.0.

I have yet to EVER buy a new car. I'll let someone else take the depreciation and I get a really nice car with low miles. Bought the 11 Premium V6 Convertible w/24k miles and a 100k mile Ford ESP for under $20k.
