RPM Lmiter: Info Needed

Pretty easy to validate IMO, if the car is set to 112 mph it should happen a few ticks after the car's trap speed in the 1/4.
A GPS would be handy to verify the actual speed - My reads 2 mph fast.

The V6 that Car and Driver tested, which was a loaded V6 with manual transmission and the performance package was governor limited to 113 mph. Seems hard to believe, but hopefully that will change with actual production V6 cars, at least with the performance package option, as that option won't be available to consumers until Job 2 build, yet most of the magazines are getting V6's with that package to test.

Anybody know what the top speed governor is on the 2010 GT?
Just curious, I doubt I'll every get anywhere close . . . though it would be fun to try . . .
Edit - found it -- Top Speed = 149, governor limited, manufacturer's claim, according to Car and Driver 2010 comparo . . . . hmmm, where can I find a closed course to test out that manufacturer's claim . . .

Everything I've read says 112 mph (I haven't heard about differing speed limiters other than the V6 112, GT 147, GT500 155).

Speaking of tuners and a recent article I read on the A6 V6 Mustang, I bet recalibrating the trans (unless the article was completely misleading) along with the minor bump im power will yield some intersting results. The article complained that the AT in the V6 car seemed hesitant to downshift compared to the AT in the V6 Camaro, as if Ford in its quest to get 31 mpg programed the tranmission to hold it in a higher gear longer.
Could be bunk as I'm unfamiliar with Ford's automatic transmissions? Do they have an adaptive calibration to some extent that will alter the shift schedule over time based on the driver's habits?

I would go with this. After I got the Z tuned and the limiter reset to 6800 anytime I romped it it seemed like the limiter cut off at like 6500 or so yet if I do like you said and bring it up slower then nailed it, it would hit the 6800. When data logged even though the factory tach didn't reach 6800 the car actually was hitting it.

you cannot go by the factory tach. it is cutting out below 7k, but the factory tach is still for reference. if you ever watch a dyno pull in your car the 'real' rpms will be read by the induction pick-up. also the factory tune peaks at 6500. a change in tune and exhaust should keep the power climbing. as much as i wanna just go out and get a complete exhaust, there is no proof that the few available actually work.
