My first Mustang was red candy...loved it. In the sun it was amazing to see. The downside of it was overcast days. I wasn't a huge fan of the washed out maroon colour it turned to.

The new stang will be Race red and I have to say it's been growing on me the more I look at it. I really like the consistency between sunny and overcast. It still pops quite well when the sun isn't out.

In the end, it's a toss up. They both are good in their own ways.

I must add: I think the Mustang looks pretty good in any color you choose. The choice is up to you

I have Race Red and like it very much. It reminds me of the Rangoon Red that my 65 was painted in. It also has the advantage that dust and dirt don't show on it as much. Last week some friends were saying how clean I keep my car, but it's been two weeks since I last had it washed. Lol

Race red is more consistent. Candy changes too much with weather.
Check out MCA Coonass image a few posts above; you put race red into a shade like that and it just turns into deeper red. Place candy red in the same shadow and it turns maroon-ish. (...than again I am biasd toward Race red )

I wanted the Candy Red when I first ordered my car, but I couldn't get it with the Red Brick Interior. That almost made me not buy a Mustang. Anyhoo, I went with the Race Red and and Red Brick I'm happy I got the Race Red and happy I didn't buy a Challenger.

Here's Race Red next to Brewster Green. Brewster's been off the option list for about 98 years though...

Hmmm. Something about the two rims look suspiciously similar for being 102 years apart!

Just what I think. Metallic are too common, give me solid colors!

It just gets so annoying that from most makers, you are limited to white, black and red. Then there is a long line of other colors, all metallic (no thanks), and at extra cost too...

Race red is IMO the best looking color on 2010+. I am also a little interested in Kona blue, but it is metallic and I think it works better on a coupe (I am leaning towards a convertible).

Lava red would also be interesting to see in real life.

...and looks freaking awesome with the Brembo package grey wheels.

All of the colors for the '10+ cars are excellent... Race Red is one of the best, IMO.

You really do need to see it in person to appreciate it... pics are great but they really don't do the color justice.

i saw lava yesterday at our local cruise in. my girlfriend thought it was black but i told her it was the lava red.
we both went over to look at it and you really cannot tell unless the sun is reflecting off of it a certain way. she told me that her impression of lava red should be a fire color like you see shooting out of a volcano. she said that she would have been dissapointed if she ordered that expecting another red. i guess you have to like it to appreciate it. to me they should have called it "black Cherry" red metallic. that would be a better description. just my $.02

I vote for Race Red.

Like others have said, it pops under any weather condition. To me, the MCA package looks best on the V6. If you get the GT, get darker wheels. Tint the windows on either one and it will look sweet!

Nothing against the Red Candy, but I have to agree that under a cloudy sky, the color would shift to maroon. Maroon was the color of my parents old 4-door Impala....
