2016 GT Racing Stripes

I'm new here and haven't owned a Mustang in over 30 years. I'm in the process of ordering a 2016 Black GT. This year you can order racing stripes but they are different then ones in the past. They're not solid. They start at the nose and gradually become solid as they go over the roof and fade again at the rear deck. I only know this from pictures on the Ford website. Does anyone have actual pictures they can post of a 2016 black GT with Silver racing stripes?
Thanks !

They are definitely subtle. I have the Guard Metallic with Ebony stripes. In the right light (like in this pic) you can't even tell it has stripes. I will post more pics tomorrow for you so that you can see the stripes. I really like them!

2016 stripes

Wow you're right. I can't even see the stripes in your picture. You mentioned that they are ebony. I only saw silver and black as the two colors offered on the ford website.

It depends on the color you choose. Only ebony is available for the guard metallic color.

Here is a shot with the stripes. Also this is with a product called Sapphire V1 applied to the car too.

Looks awesome, almost like a shadow stripe. The most important thing is that you got the PP! My Competition Orange PP GT Premium won't have stripes for a while when I get it, but I'm sure I'll get something going after I've had it for a while. Where I live I'm surrounded by fantastic mountain roads, gotta have the PP for canyon carving fun!

Thanks! Ya I was very hesitant on the stripes but when I found out they were "ghost" stripes almost it wasn't too showy and very subtle so I added them at the last moment. The PP is a must! I can't wait to take the mountain roads with this car!

Those look amazing. I have been on the fence about stripes, as I don't like too much flash, but those are excellent. Are they factory, or did the dealer install them?

Are these available for sale and installation at Ford dealerships? I like the very subtle black "ghost stripe" for my 2015 Magnetic GT.

The stripes are not installed at the factory. They are a dealer add on. (At least that's what my dealer told me.) You order them when you order your car, but the dealer supposedly installs them. I was going to get the same setup if they were done at the factory... but since my neighbor does car wraps for a living I will save $$ and learn/help do it myself.

The stripes are done from the factory. I saw it come off the truck with stripes. The dealer did not in anyway add stripes after the fact. It's also an option when building the car ($475 option). Your dealer was probably talking about the 2015 models. Stripes are new to 2016. (shown here)

I have no idea if you can add the stripes like the ones that come from the factory after the fact. What gives this the "ghost" appearance is it's basically a bunch of pixels and get darker as it goes toward the roof. It gives it a great effect!

Well I wish that my dealer had a clue... I 'm excited about my 2016 GT Premium with PP. But there is a lot of mis-information out there. For example, the Ford website clearly says in multiple locations that the 400a entertainment package comes with HD Radio. I thought I was getting HD radio with the 400a GT Premium Package.... but apparently not. Only the 401a has HD Radio.

Those factory stripes are krap! Those dot matrix spots make it look cheap! Mine had the stripes painted on at a custom paint shop.

Where did you buy them ? Stripes really change the look! I'm ordering a black 2016. Anyone with a black 2015-2016 with stripes either in black, silver or gray and can post a picture that would be great. Thanks.
