Question: If one were to order the 19" Luster Nickel

wheels which cost $995 option then which tires do they come with? the Cal Special tires 245/45/19 or the Brembo package tire size 255/40/19??? Also, lets say i dont want neither of these tires and wanted the same tires that are on the Shelby gt500 (F)255/40/19 7 (R) 285/35/19 would the dealer possibly work out a deal in a price difference thing? They keep the tires that come with Nickels and they give me a which tires that i want. One more thing if decide to go with the wheels/tires from the Shelby then how much would they cost me? Would i have to buy through Ford or Shelby?

The NL 19's come with 245/45/19. The rear Shelby tires are too big for those rims (they are 8.5" wide). You can buy the Shelby wheels from any dealer but they are literally thousands of $$$ new (just the wheels).

Some folks have lucked out on eBay and gotten a set for around $2500.

Could the Nickels handle the 255/40/19 all around then if i went that way?

Yes, you can easily put a 255 on an 8.5" wide rim, but keep in mind that the Shelby tires are summer-only tires that can't be driven on safely under 40 degrees. Also, most dealers will charge you full price for the tires w/o any (or much) credit for the tires you don't want, plus the cost of mounting & balancing. That's a lot of $'s for a mere 10mm width increase.

By the way, you can safely install a 265 width tire on the 8.5" rim.

The non-Brembo tires are Pirelli P-Zero Nero's all-season (good tire), the Brembo's are P-Zero summer-only (very good and expensive tire).

There are several sets of 18" ones (from the Shelby vert) on eBay right now for $750 + shipping. You'll pay a bunch more for the 19's though.

You can get those 18x9.5 GT500 wheels for $599 shipped from buyfordracing.com.

"Elvism", which GT500 wheels are you talking about getting?

The standard GT500 19x9.5's all around or the 19 front, 20 rear fom the SVTPP?

The GT500 wheels look good on any Mustang.

You'd be miles ahead to get those 18" $599 GT500 wheels, they look the same as the 19's and the tires are less $$$ too and the performance is just as good and the ride will be better.

would the car run just fine on staggered tires "F 255/40/18 & R 285/35/18 even though the car wasnt set up for this? I know the Shelby has it but isnt there suspension made for this style?

Not to highjack the thread but how wide of a tire can you actually put on the GT500 18x9.5 rims?

It will work just fine, suspension is the same basic setup on all Mustangs, you could run them on a V6 car just as well as a GT.

285 or 295, probably even a 305.

I am hoping to un-lazy myself this weekend and give the car some much needed cleaning attention, then photo time.

You can probably run 275's on the front, or you can go staggered like the GT500, I believe it came with 255's and 285's.

right now..pictures??? from different angles of rims and tires. want to see if this the right size for me..i was really thinking 265/40/19(like the gt500 svt package in front only) all around..If i order the 19" nickels i heard they come with the 245/45/19. i like them wider.. if i order them would the dealer make a deal in swapping out the 245/40/19 for say the 265/40/19 and pay the difference?? i doubt it but anyone ever try this? Im even considering getting the 18" shelby gt500 wheels from 2010 gt500 convertible.. (f)255/40/18 (r) 285/35/18 but im not sure if i want different tire sizes all around..
