New Spy Shot 10/23

I can deal with the weird rear bumper, I can deal with the funky tails, I can even deal with no 5.0 for the first year. But I absolutely cannot stand the black cladding's TRANSITION!!!
The front is just a chunky lip, and then it breaks at the wheel well. At the rocker, it's a different chunky shape, and juts out from the door skin level. After the rear wheel well it's flush with the bumper. Get some continuity here, it looks completely stupid! It should flow and transition from one panel to the next. I for one will be getting an aftermarket body kit to cover up this choppy crap from Ford. Most likely a Saleen, as supposedly they are revamping the rear end a lot. This crap reminds me of my Thunderbird with the same problem... front bumper lip, and gone at the rocker. Make it FLOW!!! Ford just cannot get this right.
Example of good flow and transition!
Anyone agree?

Yep, but Ford has a Stonepecking requirement. The designers are forced to make the two pieces not match. They have no choice. It also helps w/ aero numbers ( believe me, they'll do anything to get an extra 0.1 MPG now. )
Saleen can do whatever they want- they are aftermarket and don't have to hold to OEM warranty and EPA claims.

I agree 100%. My friend @ Ford says they spent most of the time designing the rear end. It was very difficult to re-skin without changing the underside stampings ( the designers were not allowed to change it. ) He said the camo is hiding alot of the shape that makes it all make sense once you see it in paint.
I think they did a good job!
He says the tailamps are awesome lit up!!!!

Can't wait to see it completely. Not a big fan of the rear end, but have to wait till it's fully exposed to pass judgement on it.

Those Ford designers should get a F- for the design of that rear bumper! I'm sure in person it isn't so noticebly horrible and odd looking...but if they spent most of their time on it- they over did it with all those ideas and angles. Abomination.
