New 2013 5.0 at dealership??????

Guys, does this seem a bit odd that a dealership would still have a brand new, not used 2013 5.0 convertible listed for almost 43k. My father was over at this Ford dealership today and saw this. He can't believe they would have a new 5.0 from 2013 still. Heck, he said Ford doesn't even have incentives on the 2013 mustang models.

Why didn't this beauty sell? Wtf. My father wants to know what's a fair offer to make on this alleged new older 2013 model? Something seems strange to me but I come to you experts on this. Here is the dealerships web site and inventory of this 2013 5.0. Search new and hit 2013 model. It comes right up.

I had a similar situation with my 2011 GT. I went to the dealer in October 2011 to order a 2012. We crunched numbers, and they steered me to a 2011 left-over which was on their lot for six months. I got a GREAT deal on the car, and I've never looked back. It did have over 100 miles on it, so I'm pretty sure they used (abused) it as a demo and tester, and lunch-go-getter, but I don't mind. I got it for over $3k under sticker, with an additional $1k dealer-installed items. If I went for a 2012 model, I would not have been able to afford ($) many of the features that I got in my 2011 - which my wife and I love (Premium, Shaker 500, Comfort Pckg, Elect. Pckg, GPS, etc.). My advice, if you want that 2013 car, squeeze the dealer as much as you can. If that car has been sitting on their lot for too long, they are really dying to get rid of it. Low ball them for like $39k. Good luck!

I agree about the price ha ha ha but isn't it strange that a dealership would still have a brand new 2013 model. Heck, its almost a 2 year old model. Lol

You consider $4k off lowballing them on a 2013 leftover? Hell I got $7k off a '14 special order, they need to go $10k off on that '13.

Isn't 39k for a 2 year old model a bit high. Granted its new but fishy that they haven't sold it all this time. You would think they would want to get rid of it for the newer models. Its almost a 2 year old model.lol

See, that's what I was thinking bro. Like 33k. Bro, I'm with you. You guys are getting deals out the a$$ on used and new 2014 models and 7k off a 2014 model. I would think a 2013 model would be worth more than 7k off..lol

Yeah, $33k take-it-off-their-hands-today, and not a penny more.

Bottom line is when it drives off the lot, it will be a used 2013 for whoever has purchased it. It will instantly lose 15,000 in value based on the MSRP.

My 13 was the last one the dealer was getting, and it had just come down from MD, sticker was 42, we got it for 35.

$10k off or even more would be reasonable. I got $7k off my 6/28/2014 special order that was deliver last October, includes the incentives in effect at the time.

Even though there are no incentives on 13's right now I bet they either got this on a special buy from Ford or another Dealer. I doubt it has been sitting on their lot for this full time. Not familiar with the dealer, but they would have to be a pretty small low traffic dealer for that to happen.

Never hurts to ask. Shoot them a low number and see what the say.

I think my father is going to offer 32k tomorrow. The dealership must not do much volume if they can't sell a 2013 5.0 convertible.

Still gonna have the factory warranty that starts when it's sold... all the known issues with the '13/14 are identified. Yeah, the book value will reflect that it's a 2 year old model... but a brand new one with 100 miles drops like a rock as well. Eventually, that dealer will have the last brand new 2013 convertible available... and somebody will want it bad enough to pay for it. Id they've kept it this long, I wouldn't expect them to give it away now.

Give them the 10k lower offer and see if they call back... Dealers love to get all your info and then run a credit check to see if they can make deal and not worry about financing. If you are paying cash it's a moot point, but be prepared for the stubborn sales manager that wants more for this car than the market is willing to pay.

Capitalism is a female dog when new models keep rolling in and the older one just keeps losing value day by day. This Mustang isn't like that story on Jalopnik about the dealer that kept a GNX on the showroom for 20 years and now it's worth like 3x more the original sticker.

Some other person is gonna have to be desperate enough for a 2013 to pay that price for an almost 2 year old model. Ha ha ha!

After a quick look on Ebay, looks like the asking price is 33K (obo) for a 2013 premium convertible so I guess I was $5K off, lol.
