I ordered my car on April 20, and as of today, exactly 6 weeks later, I do not have a VIN number.
So I think I am going to cancel my order and find a stock car.

Can any of you help me, as I need to go argue with the dealer? All I need is for some of you to post the date on which you ordered your car, and the date on which you received you VIN.

I don't think you really need any help. This is inexcusable.

Mine was "ordered" 4/3 but entered with Ford on 4/13 ... VIN was received 4/16.

Of course, I still don't have my car. . .

As far as the "argument" this dealership is 2 miles away from my house, and it is where I bought my wife's Escape, and where I take it for servicing. Same salesman, in fact.

So, in a bid to keep things friendly "just in case" I want to explain to them why I am pulling the plug, without too many bad feelings.

If things get ugly, I will quickly introduce them to Frank, my process server.

I ordered on 3/20 and my salesman called with my VIN on 4/13. Build date was 4/15. ETA is still 5/6 (no, that's not backwards). Hope this helps.

some of us ordered very early.. JAN/ FEB

and didnt get a VIN til May..

so dont worry about it.. just be patient..

btw im still waiting for mine to show up at dealer.. eta may 26th

Ordered 3/29. Got my VIN 5/14. Build date 5/24. Got confirmation that car was built 5/28. Hang in there, it will happen. I lost all hope too and then all of a sudden, everything came together. ETA 6/20!

Ordered mine May 13th, received my VIN May 29th. Build date is June 7th.

You need to go with a dealer that has a long history and decent sales, as I think those dealers are somewhat prioritized with Ford in their ordering. I'm not positive on this though...

Either way there is no excuse for 6 weeks without a VIN. Your salesman could be a complete idiot and forgot to have ordered the car as well
