Why are manufacture dates referred to as "born?"

On the forums, sometimes I see the manufacture date of a car as "born." When something is born, it comes out of a vagina - right?

Otherwise its hatched out of an egg.

Moderators please don't kick me off. Its just a body part.

I don't know exactly when my Mustang was born, but when I got it there was a hand print on it's a$$ from where the QC tech slapped it.

My 93 Notch was 'born'oin my 21st birthday

I thought that was kind of cool to find out

Glad I wasn't working the assembly line that day

The car would have 3 headlights and no motor

People tend to anthropomorphize their cars by naming their cars, referring to them as "she", etc. In that case, born on date makes sense.
