My Fuel Economy meter thing is always different than the Trip A/B meter. The trip meter will show 21mpg or something and at the exact same time that real-time fuel economy gauge will show 16.5.

Well, the only way I get it is b/c most of my miles are highway. Every bit of stop and go I do sees the mpg drop. But I've yet to have a tank drop below 20. It's just not going much ABOVE 20 either, lol.

Update....weather makes a huge difference in this car, evidently. It was 65 here for the first time in a while and after filling up, I saw my mpg get up to a sustained 24 before getting stuck in a traffic jam on the way home.

My 2012 Mustang GT 3.31 gears produced an avg. of 26 MPG on a 1,000+ mile road trip going about 60-70 mph on cruise control. No major modifications to the car. I did this by calculation by logging miles and actual amount of fuel used. I think the computer in the car is inaccurate. I can reset MPG avg and get it to 30 mpg. But I think it best to do the calculation yourself.
Also, I think I could have gotten better than 26 mpg on the road trip. After going on cruise control for hours it's pretty hard to resist downshifting and gunning it on long stretches of roads where you know it's safe. Also can't resist showing off to people that tail gate me (on the right lane!) whenever safe, I gun it, and watch them become small in the rear view mirror. Probably could have gotten 27or 28 mpg for less uphill roads and no wot runs.

I got a 2012 GT with 3.55 gears and MT. my problem is that I do mostly city driving.
in the city I get around 14 to 17 mpg. there's mostly a lot of stop and go traffic and then it will be 14.
on the autobahn/highway I can achieve up to 26 mpg. of course in 6th gear and not driving too fast. I noticed the fuel economy is best when not driving faster than about 60 mph.

Well I have had my car for 10 days now and 450 mi.
I'm getting 18.5 MPG with an even split of freeway and around town driving!
I have a 2014 GT with 3.73 gears and 6sp. Manual transmission!
I'm guessing it will only get better as it breaks in!
But I'm very happy with what I'm getting right now, my previous DD was a Nissan frontier and it avg. 15.8 mpg
