MPG in new 2014 GT 6MT

Hey gang. This is my first topic since my intro post and it's not a huge deal but just curious, my mpg is pretty low right now compared to stated highway mpg and I'm just wondering if this is still just a break in issue or what? I've got a brand new GT manual trans w/ 3.73 gears. I do roughly 120 miles a day, mostly highway with posted speeds varying from 60-75 mph. The best I've seen so far is 22.9 mpg indicated and as soon as I hit the happy pedal on a merge ramp it was back into the 21.x range. I'm only at 700 miles (bought the car a week ago tonight) so I was just wondering if I could see a tad better mpg since I really hyped that highway number to the wifey, lol. Either way, I'm not poor so no huge deal but still...

I have 3,000 miles on mine and I get anywhere from 18-22mpg's driving 75 miles a day round trip at 55-65 mph on rural roads. Definitely depends on right foot usage though. If I really baby it I can get around 23mpg but I didn't buy a GT to baby it.

When I first got my GT without all the stuff I've added, I had a few highway 300+ mile drives. I achieved 28.3 MPG using the cruse control and locking it at 71 mph.

Adding a bigger wing and a front splitter, dropped it a few MPG, I can get 24.5-25 MPG if I really stay off the gas and use the cruse control on the interstate. 75-85 mph it drops to an average of 22-23 mpg.

Around town with the windows down my gas mileage sucks. About 9 mpg. lol I blame Borla for that, lol. With the windows up and driving 'normal' around town I can get 14-15mpg depending on traffic. Start and stop traffic, lots of lights and stop signs, 10-12mpg.

You can reset the mpg calculator, after you get going on the interstate, and get a better reading of the mpg highway. Any stop and go traffic or slow traffic burning gas the mpg drop like a rock, when no ground is covered.

I have a '13 w/ 3.73s that I DD and have never done better than 19mpg (though I've never reset it so it's life-of-car MPG) so be happy. I'm currently at ~16.5 and that's up from ~14.5 after moving and adding highway miles to my commute.

I have a 2014 GT TP 6MT with 3.73. On the highway I got as much as 25.2mpg, but my overall MPG with combined ~50/50 city and highway driving is somewhere in the 17mpg range. But then again I didn't buy this car for it's fuel economy.

I have a '14 GT with 3.73 and the 6MT, rolling on the Pirelli P Zeros...

My average mileage overall since new is 19.0mpg on the button (I've left my "Trip B" rolling since taking delivery).

The best I've done (on a 500 mile road trip) was 24.5mpg (but that was averaging 75-80 on the highway with, um, brief stints in the 100mph range ).

Interestingly, in the bumper to bumper driving that I usually do (literally, my drive to work averages about 20mph) I get around 18.8mpg.

Gotcha. Seems like I'm about normal then. I guess I'm just a bit surprised since I usually do much better than the window sticker given the fact that I pretty much do 99.9% highway 5 days a week then just a few in town runs on the weekend. But no, I knew what I was getting into!

2012 6MT w/3.73's & 48K miles:

I average 23.5 mpg winter and 24.5 summer driving 95% hilly highway @ 75mph.

I have a Steeda CAI/tune added at like 30K miles but no noticeable change in my averages with it.

If you're truly 90%+ highway, I'd expect a little better too but that's not bad. A/C on/off, how much stop/go there is, etc. will all affect that.

Yep, that is what I was thinking, too. A/C is off, very little start/stop. I commute about 65 miles one way and drive pretty much straight to/from work every day and let my wife run any errands in town. I literally only go thru 3 stop lights per trip. But I may still just be adjusting to driving it. I've never owned a manual trans V-8 in a car before. The last time I went car shopping was in 2012 and I wanted either a Mustang or Challenger but I was worried about gas a bit more and bought a Civic Si instead. But I just got tired of zinging that thing to redline all the time and said gas be damned.

'14 GT Track Pkg M6 here - and I get 16-18 for my usual commutes. I've seen it hit 22 for a longer trip with a little city mixed in. Yet to take it out for a proper road trip, though. I started off getting 15... but then with more miles on it I've been getting better during normal driving of shifting sooner and not revving it up as much. As my previous car was a VVLT-i 4 cylinder 6 speed (which I still drive once a week which can still throw me off), adjusting the shift pattern has taken some getting used to. "Wait, I don't have to cruise at 3k RPM to have any sense of power? Really? COOL!"

17.3 average. 7 miles stop and go, 35 miles highway daily. I generally average 75mph, but I'm constantly on/off the gas because idiots around here don't know how to stay the hell out of left lane at 60mph.

2013 GT, 3.31 gears here - 20 mile commute, interstate/surface street mix but a lot of stop and go.... I've learned that if I short shift, coast when possible and not get into "beast" mode, I can average 22-23 mpg. When I let'er rip and have fun I'm around 17 mpg.

Took one 200 mile all interstate trip last month. 25.5 mpg.

Yeah, I was looking at the shift points recommended in the owner's manual. Something like 42 mph for the shift into 6th. I've been trying to get there at least in the 50s but sometimes it whizzes right by, lol. But as soon as I'm up to speed, I lock in the speed limit and stay there as much as I can. It's kinda funny, in my lesser cars, if I went the speed limit, someone was always on my butt. In this car...not so much.

You mileage sounds right on the money, but it should increase as the engine loosens up over time. The gears will impact your MPG, my wife's 11 GT with 3:31s will always get 2-3 mpg better than mine with 3:73s but it's not just gears as I have a Boss 302. Best I've ever seen on my car is 23 mpg, but on mix of highway and around town 18-19, or 14-15 if I'm really getting on the gas at every twist and turn...
