Motor Trend review is up !
ime to put it all together. I found myself actually saying, "This engine's a pot of honey." Out loud, with another human being in the car. Why would anyone make such a ridiculous statement? Probably because the new motor really is a pot of honey, specifically when you're in forth gear at 4,000 rpm and you bury the throttle. Turns out that 4,000 rpm is when peak torque (390 lb-ft) happens and the 5.0-liter V8 pulls like a jet airliner. Outside of the GT500 or a very breathed-upon Rousch/Saleen, we've never experienced this kind of at-speed acceleration in a Mustang. Very impressive, and more than just impressive, a bit intoxicating. From a standstill, the 5.0 is every bit as superb. We won't be surprised if and when the 2011 Mustang GT breaks into the high 12s running the quarter-mile with a trap in the 112-mph range. Ford went all "no comment" when asked about performance figures, but again we'll speculate that 0-60 mph is probably mid-4s, which is quick by any method of accounting.
they are crying at camaro5
Are Camaro guys Emo?
Like I have been saying till I turned blue.
When the camaro was spanking the mustang we got responses like "well we expected more with 426 hp" or dumb **** like "the mustang is only a couple ticks slower to 60"
Now we have cars that are **** near identical in strait line performance and it is the end all be all of sports cars.
I dont know why this is the case....but it sure isnt fair to the camaro.

**** it Ford...I'll be tossing and turning all night "day' dreaming about a Kona Blue GT that needs to reside in my driveway...Man! July cannot get here fast enough (that's when my Ford Stock matures and I can get my pin number for the x-plan)
What they don't get is that the Stang is better not just in 0-60 or 1/4 mile, but by the totals overall in every aspect of the car. IE: ride, handling, gadgetry, performance, interior, etc...
NOW, where is that 2011 GT500 review?

Well, I am impressed by both cars but most of all by the V6. Even though it was a Track Pack car that we won't be able to order for a while, the numbers were outstanding.
I was slightly disappointed that the 5.0 didn't go a little quicker but I'm sure BOTH cars will be faster once the full tests by the major Mustang rags come out. Both cars will almost assuredly be faster with drag radials or slicks, probably at least 2-3 tenths in the right hands.
The one V6 test where they banged it around on the street and up and down the highway and still got 27 MPG combined is fantastic. Really has me torn over wanting a V6 to drive to work or a 5.0 to terrorize the street with!
