It's also the beginning of the month, if it was the end of the month they would want that thing off the lot to hit quota and get the manufacturer hold back money. Sounds pretty stupid, I would get in touch with a FoMoCo regional representative, this is exactly what their position entails: solving customer problems.

 

I would tell them to go fly a kite...and order elsewhere.

IMO, you're spending too much money to not get what you want. You could wait until the car comes in and see it in person before you make the call. But being that you wanted a red car exressly to avoid the silver stripes in the first place, why wait if you know you won't like it? Even though it would be highly inconvenient to wait longer, you may want to go to another dealer and order the car exactly the way you want. You can cancel the order with your present salesman. They won't like it, but oh well! Someone else will buy the car if you refuse it.

I spent a month searching to get the color combo that I wanted. I looked at a white car w/ black and brick red interior, then a red car with stone interior. Each time, I came close, but ultimately waited until I found a red car with black interior. I'm happy that I held out for what I wanted.

Yep afraid so... I ordered the stripes through another dealer though... I ordered the 2 side stripes for $260 USD & I am trying to decide what stripe in flat black will look nice over the top... Lemans, Shelby, Boss.....

 

sounds like you are wasting money. make them make it right or simply order a new one. The stripes cost isnt in the vinyl but in the install.. the install is always twice the cost of the stripes.
