Ordered my 2011 GT today!

I ordered my 2011 GT today! Thanks Jeff (05fordgt) for your help and guidance! Looking forward to meeting you when it comes in, in the spring. Mine is Race Red with a black racing stripe. Lots o options inside and out!

This is the first new car I have ever owned. It is a gift to myself as I recently retired from 30 years in the military. Mustangs are like kryptonite to me.... whew!

Any inclination on there being another hold/delay in build time??

The dealers tell you a nice warm and fuzzy 6-8 weeks.
But many a time it's a lot longer. Mine for instance was just over 16 weeks for a build time.
My situation --> https://themustangsource.com/showthread.php?t=476865

Here's to hoping you guys don't experience a lot of that.

2011 Mustang

Hopefully it wont' take that long after March 15th, but who knows where my 2011 is when it comes to production, I am fine if it takes into May early June so I don't have to drive the car to school...(I am switching schools next year)

I am not sure which is worse, the warm and fuzzy standard answer, or totally clueless . . . the dealers around here don't even know they can order them yet, and when asked they say it will probably be June or July before they show up! (maybe they are right, who knows)

as much as I'd like to give a local small business owner my business, I think I will be contacting Jeff (05fordgt) when I get serious about ordering one

Hey Chris, it was my plesure to help you get your dreamcar!!! Right now, we are closed for the day due to the snow, but I am actually down in Atlantic City stuck in a blizzard!! I was off Friday attending a Ford seminar with Alan Mulally who I met and got his signature. I have your DORA and will send it Monday. I ran out of day on Thursday and the scanner is used by someone who had people all night so I couldn't use it. I'll send over the info as soon as I get back and we clean off the lot cars (THAT is a job I hate).

Thanks again Chris. I can't wait to meet you when the car is here and ready for pickup.

Hi all,
Enjoying the site, first time posting. Ordered mine 2/5/10 cant wait! Had the hardest time between black and grabber blue almost went to a coin flip, finally decided on black cause the wheels that come on the gt/cs seem a little darker and will look sharp on it. Anyway got the 6sp manual, california special with the 3.73 rear axle, thats all i wanted except the nav but decided to save the 2 grand. Some posts Ive noticed maybe not this particular thread where people think that the shaker 500 standard in gt premium is one cd but i believe its a 6 disc as the price list says cdx6. retail 36085.00, a plan is 32456.68 for this build. anyways hope this was a little helpful to someone as your posts were very interesting and helpful to me. thanks, take it easy.

Welcome aboard! I went with black on my '10 GT with no regrets. I really think it is one of the best colors on this body style.

It will be interesting to see if you get a 6-CD changer or not. As you mention, it has been reported on a number of sites that the all '11 Shakers will be a single CD like on the nav units, but maybe it was a just typo on early literature ?

The first page of the order guide under New Option Changes says, "Shaker 500 and Shaker 1000 now single CD" However, there is a USB port in the center console which will allow you to put in a thumb drive and have a lot more music to listen to then the 6 CDs that were part of the Shaker system before.

I have a six CD shaker system in 08 GT and it's just not enough! Plus, it can glitch out especially when the car's interior is hot from sitting in the sun all day long in the summer. Anything with moving parts is going to be less reliable then something without moving parts like a thumb drive.

Yeah the CD changers always were a bit twitchy. Probably for the best that they go bye bye.
