The sound tube has nothing to do with drone.

Just took her out for a spin. It's not nearly as bad with the radio on, but the low frequency is hard to ignore.

It seem so to be worst around 1800-2100 RPM...which is where I spent most of my time city driving.

POOP. It sounds so good from the outside I got a few head turns....ahhh.....Not gonna buy another set for 400 bucks then pay another 90 to get them swapped out. ugh.

I'd still take the Bassani's over the GT500's any day despite the drone.

Naaaaaaaah. There are certain exhaust systems that can annoy the hell out of you and others. Drone can drive anyone nuts, especially if you cruise in the city with the windows down in summer. No thanks.

I'd take my Gt500's over anything out there. Deep rumble and much louder than stock. Just perfect for what I need. But to each their own though.

i will be installing mine on sat. I am really surprised how many people have such a huge prob with a little drone. Christ I had foxes that were so loud they would rattle the fillings outta your teeth. You wanna start modding a mustang, guess what......its gonna get faster and louder lol. I could see a complaint though if you absolutely needed to hear yourself think though lol.

Do the Roush drones? Cause the Roush axle backs sound pretty **** sick.

I'm gonna stick with the Bassanis for a bit see how I like them. I am a bit pissed because Bassani said on their youtube page there is "no drone". The exhaust note is beautiful..so I might be able to get over a little drone (it's really not that bad, I'm just ****).

Not every modded mustang has to be like that. Mine won't be like that either. I don't wanna wake the neighbors every time I go somewhere, and plenty of people here feel the same.

It'd be different if it was my weekend car, but it's my daily driver, so there are times I want it to be civilized, and other times I don't.

Have you contacted Bassani and told them about this?

I installed mine a couple nights ago (Bassani AB). Around 2k there is some very slight drone...but I'm never cruising at that RPM. Hardly noticeable. It sounds like a muscle car.

Cruising to work on the freeway between 75-90mph was a joy. Great sound...not too loud, but loud enough.

Best $470 I have spent IMO.

Do you routinely cruise at 3k-4k rpm, then?

Not being sarcastic. I usually "cruise" at 1.7-2k rpm for best fuel econ. But I'm also running 3.31.

Edit: How louder (or softer) are the Roush and Borla S-types?

Yes. 90% of my commute to work is 35 miles on the freeway doing 75+. 3.73 gears puts me at ~2,300 RPM in 6th gear.

How does this compare to the Magnaflow comp. & Borla S-type?

Sounds good on youtube but it's always hard to get a real sound out of little mac speakers... lol
