My suggestion is a little differant than most. Put it in "Sport Mode" and then get on it a little. Once you learn how the car handles. Get on it a little more each time and you will get the hang of if. Be careful with the throttle. Be patient and learn the limits slowly. It will get more and more fun the harded you push it. By doing it slowly, if you do go over the edge, you should be able to hang on and regain control.

I still haven't dared turn off traction control. Just put it in sport. Even with it on breaking traction isn't terribly hard, but at least it's quick to get you back with traction so long as you aren't too crazy. At first breaking traction was quite a shocking experience to say the least, but after some fun times with that it's not a big deal to me anymore. It does take some time to get used to, just don't push too hard, get to know the limits.

I came from a 190 HP 2004 Mustang V6 Automatic, so yeah, that was quite a change for me. This is the first manual I've ever driven.

I drove my car to work all last week through curvey mountain roads. I must admit I was a liitle nervous going through the curves. Only a two lane blacktop with no guard rails in places. I didn't want to risk damaging the car or going off dead man's bluff. I stayed around 60 MPH through the curves but the car seemed to be able to take much more. I need to find a place where I can find out just where the limits are.

Go to a track day. Clubs and other organizations rent race tracks for a day (or more). Its not that expensive other than for your tires and brakes. Its easy to go thru sets of each if you do a lot of laps. Think about getting brake ducts though or you waste a lot of potential (and fun).

Autocross is a lower speed alternative and even cheaper. Less wear and tear; probably don't need brake ducts to be on pace.
