Disappointing dyno run, 2011 stock 5.0 auto

Best I got was 344hp/326 tq.
6700 miles on it, all stock.
I was hoping for at least 350.

I wouldn't be too disappointed, looks like you found a correctly calibrated dyno. Remember, 412hp, I'd guess at least 15% drivetrain loss, puts you at 350 in the best of conditions.

"Hoping for 350" and you're only 6 hp. off... Pretty good if you ask me! Different weather conditions can change that reading with nothing else being different.

Nice car, by they way.

What gear did you run it in? I have seen auto's any were from 340-365 so it all depends on the dyno.

Don't worry about it, a dyno is a tuning tool, they very so much on where you go.

The drag strip is a more accurate performance benchmark!

Thats about what we see from these cars on our dyno. 342 to 348 is the range I've seen.

I could not agree more.

Did they do an SAE corrected run also?

One of their guys was in it.
He did say it was on the verge of shifting into the next gear during the peak part of the pull. Don't know if it was looking to shift into 4th?

No, just those two runs. It was a dyno day.
They ran about 20+ cars through in about 7 hours.

Thanks, all for the replies.
OK, so now I don't feel as bad.
I basically just wanted to get a baseline number.

Cool Another Stock Dyno Run.

Hi guys, I decided to just add to this thread rather than start a new one.

My SCCA group had a "Dyno Day" today, so I got a FREE shot at the dyno! My Mustang is a 2011 GT, bone stock, 89 oct. gas. (91 would be stronger!) WX was about 50 deg. (felt a lot colder!), 15% humidity, Dynojet Dyno. Run made in 3rd gear because it's an auto-trans, so the numbers (esp. torque) will be a little lower than usual:

353 WHP / 326 TQ!

[+17% for drivetrain loss = 413 HP!]

6700 rpm = 110 mph in 3rd! The HP curve is incredibly smooth, too. The tech. driving it on the dyno. has named my car "Crown Royale" because it felt so smooth! haha

There was another guy there with an '08 SRT Charger, with an Intake and 93 Tune on it: 355 HP (I forget his torque number, sorry).

I think I'll keep it.
