Issues on cold start up

Lately when I start my car when the engine is cold, it idles rough. Rougly idles at about 1500 and then settles down after a few moments and is good.

But it has gotten worse. Today it idled really rough and then it sounded like clunking where it almost choked. Did that 2 times in succession. It then settled down and was fine. It did that again when I started it up to come home from work.

I am thinking it is my tune, but why is it getting worse?

Maybe time to clean the throttle body and the MAF?

if you think its the tune, restore the car to its factory tune and see if the issue goes away, I would think that would be a quickest way to find out...

Thanks for reaching out about this, jim010. Have you reached out to your local dealer regarding this concern? I suggest doing so if you haven't already. Also, please send along a current odometer reading so I can research available options.

I can't go to the dealer if it is a tune. I have to do some trouble shooting first. Setting back to stock tomorrow.

Sounds like the open loop cycle that occurs at start up needs adjustment in the tune.

So what is the clunking that I am hearing, if that is the case?
