This is what I did a couple days ago, no hassling from the dealer at all, just walked in said I wanna cancel my ford ESP and fidelity extended warranty, they apply the refund to your principal balance so don't get an instant check or anything. Definitely not something to buy if you plan on extensive mods.

Cancel both, that maint contract is silly, you get oil changes and hoses and brakes, but in the course of 60k miles (the length avg of those particular contracts)... at their 7500 interval that's only 8 changes and if you paid let's say 1600 for it.. That adds up to 200 or so per visit... It's really pricey.

So def cancel both, but remember don't get that money back instantly, it's applied to the principal balance.

Yeah, and once you verify the principal is reduced, you can refinance for lower payments and hopefully a lower rate.
