The secret to high mpg is the skip shift.

Try to keep the car moving at all times. Try not using the brakes. Time those lights. Increase your following distance. Use the cruise control as much as possible. Keeper waxed up. Don't know how much that last one will help but at least you will be looking good.

My lowest mileage was 14.15. That's with pretty much 100% city driving. Plus, the lights here are synchronized to always switch to red when you approch them.
On a recent trip to Pennsylvania I got the highest mileage so far: 28.74 mpg with almost 100% highway driving.
This is according to my own calculations. The overall so far is 18.50 mpg.

According to what people post, they are getting 27mpg on the high way, 24, combined, 20 city, etc. According to the computer it says I'm getting 13.4 MPG. You know, the screen that comes up when you keep pressing the info button on the right driver's side. I just put $20 worth of gas 93 octane today and the gas light is on once again. I shift at 3 or 3.5k rpm. How do people get such high miles per gallon from their GT?
As a 49-yr-old fart who has owned and driven many fun cars, the best advice I can give is to not drive like a wild bag all the time. Choose wisely those times/areas when you will romp-and-stomp, and drive civilized at other times, obeying posted speed limits. Not only will your mpg be better but you may find that the selective municipal revenue enhancement system (a.k.a. cops with radar) will bother you less.
In other words, use discretion but still have fun. Just a suggestion.

You just need to use two automated systems provided by ford to obtain great milage. The rev limiter will let you know the optimum time to shift and the yellow gas light tells you when it's the best time to fill up.
Too easy.

So I took it easy yesterday on my 100 mile round-trip commute which is 75/25 highway/surface streets.
Stock tune, 3.55 axle, Brembo package tires, 93 Ocatne gas: 26.14 MPG. This figure is according to the calculator after filling up at the same pump at the Shell station down the road...
FWIW, The computer was reading 24.8mpg.
Yes, it's my personal best with this car but I'm confused as to how you guys are doing so much worse than that. I really didn't do anything unusual other than taking it easy.

When I first got my car, I got about 13mpg, I was driving very spirited everywhere, when I got that out of my system I was curious to see how good it could be on gas (didn't buy this car because I cared) but curious and I was amazed that I could get 26-28 mpg on the way to work everyday in cruis control. I don't even care anymore I haven't gotten above 20mpg since the 4.10's went in, the car might as well idle at 6500 rpm
