The HID headlights are inverted
Same thing with me. I preferred the V6 front end at the time. Totally changed my mind after seeing them on the road. The fog lights give the care real presence.
Sorry to bring back an old thread but I just got my car after months of reading everyone's opinions etc. I like the HID look better. Well worth the cost for upgrading. And light output is superior. At least there are options.

Hey, thanks! Yes, finally! The car rags were right, it really, really loves to rev.
Here's my thread with pics.

Here in the desert, the HIDs are great! No lighting of any kind, except from the HIDs, for miles and miles, and you really get to appreciate them.
It sounds as though I'm in the minority, but I like the looks of the HIDs in a normal GT front end. They look especially cool with the Sterling Gray paint, IMHO.

I find the regular lamps compliment the contour of the hood and really complete the front end, not to mention match the fogs exactly. And call me silly, but i actually LIKE the look of the amber lights on the inside of the non-hid's aswell. I also have the Sterling Gray paint.
They're all gorgeous, who are we kidding

Honestly, I think the HIDs are the much better looking of the 2 choices. The opening for the headlights is bigger toward the grille, and tapers off by the outside of the car. The HIDs blend better, with the bigger light in the bigger space, as opposed to the big headlight in the smaller area of the headlight housing, leaving the bigger part by the grille just unfilled looking.
That said, black bezel for the HIDs would be sex.

They're Hoen H10 bulbs part # 9008
I believe them to be these. I was looking into them myself...

Edit: but then there's the negatives: lots of users saying these bulbs aren't bright and are totally useless.

How can the tinted covers possibly NOT reduce the brightness of the light coming through?
I could never figure out why people do this; yeah it looks cool, but kinda like wearing sunglasses at night.
Whenever ya feel like passin the fanja lemme kno!
Was just thinking that the ambers on the outside sorta resemble the old 70's Boss 302
