The HID headlights are inverted
I'm struggling with the thought of HID's. I don't really know if I like them and if they're worth it. I've heard some people say that, other people on the road think that Mustangs with HID's have their brights on. This would bother me too. I dont really want to annoy people or make people think Im trying to blind them.

I can also tell you that the HIDs on our '08 do give off a LOT of light. It is certainly an improvement over standard headlights. So if light performance is your deciding factor, then yes, you should probably get them.
Thankfully, the HIDs on our car didn't alter the looks of the car the way the 2010+ does. If I were to order an '11+, I would NOT order the HIDs because of their visual appearance. I'd rather "settle" for normal lights and a have a car I feel looks much nicer than pay extra for lights that makes the car look strange. (Just my opinion).
I really can't say why I got the HIDs. As a normal driver I always kinda hated the HID lights on other cars because they were brighter and a bit more annoying. After I actually sat in a car WITH HIDs though they did seem kinda nice to have for a brighter, fuller light. They don't seem like the light tapers off toward the edge.
That said, I am kinda worried they'll look silly with them and the fog lights both on.

The standard lights are definitely more retro looking ... not a fan of the HID lights. I guess Ford changed the styling between the two so folks can tell just buy looking who paid for the HID option ???
I agree 100%. But, in my opinion, the gille-mounted fog lights in the '05-current GT's is almost like a trademark for the GT model. It's the main thing people identify when comparing the GT to other models. I think the HIDs look ok on the Shelby and V6 models, but I think Ford should have somehow (I realize it probably wouldn't be cost effective) made HIDs look more similar to the GT's fogs like they did for the '05-'09s, or vice versa. That's my main issue with the current HIDs.
yeah, I think they look sharp on the V6 with the MCA package which has the lower fascia fogs . . . it's the big fogs right next to them on the GT grill that makes them look odd
Definitely not a big deal with the HIDs being flipped. Most likely a packaging issue with the ballasts and ignitors taking up more space, and needing the move to the inside for fit. Oh well.
If you don't like them, go get a set of aftermarket HIDs and put them in. If you don't like halogen fogs, either get a set of Hoen Xenonmatch bulbs or HIDs for the fog lights and be done with it.
Seems like a lot of complaints and no talk of solutions.

I got the HID's because I drive a lot in the mountains of Kosovo and Macedonia at night. I'm talking a place where potholes pop up where they were not a few hours earlier and there are always rock slides. The tunnels have no lights and well as some cars. A good set of the brightest legal lights is worth it to me. That way I can see and be seen. As for looks who cares, the car won't look so good if I hit one of those big *** rocks.
