H pipe crossover clamp?

I'm going to be swapping my Boss H pipe for an MRT one, and noticed that it didn't come with a clamp for the crossover, it's just a slip joint. I emailed MRT and they advised me that it's supposed to be unclamped to allow some movement. Seems to me this would cause a leak. The stock GT and Boss have a flex joint in there. What say the rest of you?

I've been told to make sure 'all' your exhaust clamps are tight to avoid an exhaust leak. That's why 'rubber hangers' are use on the exhaust, for movement.
