Gauges issue at startup

Gauges just started doing this yesterday.
When starting they peg on the low side and bounce for a few seconds.
I'm taking it in next week. Luckly it's still in warranty for another few months. Any ideas on what is causing this?
Battery?
Alternator?

Click on the pic to go to the vid of the issue.

Thanks for the suggestion.
The car is stock.
No tunes or engine mods.

That is a bit odd, before I got the video to work, I though you were referring to gauges did when you turned to car off too.

It was the battery.
Went to start it last night and it was totally dead.
Replaced the battery last night and it fired right up, but was showing the driver's door ajar (door was closed), steady check engine light and the miles to empty still read over 350 (way too much)

Started this morning and no door/CEL indicators, but miles to empty still read over 350.

Brought it to dealer today to get the electrical system checked and was told:
1. No electrical issues detected.
2. Check engine light was caused by my disconnecting the skip-shift.
3. I should normally be getting over 350 miles per tank.
4. My new battery from advanced auto had a dead cell.

First time I've been disappointed by this dealer's service department. Felt that I was getting a load of BS.

- Had battery independently checked after leaving there today and it's pushing 780 CCA (it's rated at 590). Called dealer back and they said that they couldn't provide a read-out on the bad battery test they performed. But that I shouldn't have bought a battery from Advanced Auto because they are crap batteries.

- Skip-shift had been disconnected for darn near 3 years without it ever causing a CEL.

- Over 350 miles on a tank? On a 5.0L V8?...LOL!...Pull the other one.

So, too much drama for just a dead battery?

Yep, grabbing a beer and turning on Sportscenter.

Hey Banjostang,

You are more than welcome to get a second opinion at a different Ford Dealer and speak to the service manager. He is in the best position to ensure a proper diagnosis, and will be able to provide available options and/or coverage for any work needed. Also, remember repairs done at a Ford Dealer come with a 24 months/unlimited miles warranty.

You can schedule an appointment online here. Let me know the outcome.

Thanks Deysha. Appreciate how you support us on the forums. Unfortunately I don't have the time to take off of work and run this down at the other dealer in town. It's just a battery on the last month of the warranty so not a huge deal. This dealer usually provides excellent service. Not a perfect world, I'm giving them a pass on this one.

So my car JUST started doing this. Yesterday I flipped the key and it started but would bounce the needles to the far left for a second or two until going to normal. It also turns on my little info screen (not LCD screen, '12).

ALSO though, My driver side window wouldn't come back up after I shut the door unless I manually pressed the button. It goes down when I open but not up. Eventually it works properly but then the automatic up button doesn't work. Now I have to hold it to go up.

Weird issues.

Hey Krohn,

I recommend bringing it in to your dealer and speaking to your service manager about these concerns. He is in the best position to look into this for you and can check into any warranty, assistance, recalls, or customer satisfaction programs that may apply to your vehicle.

Also, remember repairs done at a Ford Dealer come with a 24 months/unlimited miles warranty. You can schedule an appointment online here.
