'Factory' Hood Scope

How is the optional hood scope secured to the hood? Double sided tape, screws, etc.?

Don't know about how a scope would be attached but all previous factory Ford hood scoops were attached with studs and nuts.

I removed my hood scoop to make it functional. Several nuts/bolts and several push lock plastic clips. Remove your hood liner and you'll see them all poking through under the hood.

As far as mounting a scope, you'll want to mount that somewhere that provides easy viewing while you line up your opponents in your sights before droping the hammer (or pulling the trigger).

I was wondering since I found a 2010 GT I like except for it has the hood SCOOP that is included in an accessory package. If I were to get the car I would remove the SCOOP and don't want a bunch of holes in the hood. I think I'll go by and look how it is attached.

You should hit up Cervinis and see if they gave away that free 2010 hood yet!

Those hood scoops are very large for something that doesn't do anything. I sat in one (Mustang) at my local dealer. It blocks the view of the road some. I didn't like it. A little like a chick wearing a padded bra. LOL!!!

+1

There's a candy apple red 2010 GT near me but it has the hood scoop and I just don't like it. All the 2010 GT premium autos I've found near me seem to have that in common.

If you take the scoop off you will have holes to fill.

Does your hood have an AWP on it?

Thanks for the scoop Kev

That's a lot of hardware just to attach one little (well I guess in this case large) scoop.
