I bet you that's why. All mine are 4th gen or older. I have a couple 1G Nanos and a 4G color. My gf has a 5G nano. I'll have her dig it up and give it a try.

 

Dude don't listen to us. Go to a dealer and ask to see a vehicle with the electronics package and I e without. Who gives a crap about sat/nav, it's about how much easier everything else is to do with it. Radio adjustments, sync commands, Bluetooth, etc. Go play with it, you'll know if it's right for you.

 

Just got a 2013 v6 pony package with Electronic Package. LOVE IT - CAR AND PACKAGE.
